Here’s what I bought on / around Black Friday, including a Stitch Fix try on.
I claim to be not much of a shopper and only buy new things when I really need them. But on Black Friday, I do go a little crazy with all the sales out there! Here are pics of the clothes I bought, tried on, and returned from stores IRL, Stitch Fix, and Short Story. Plus my new shoes!
Stitch Fix Haul
Stitch Fix had a zero styling fee promo, so I took advantage and ordered a box! Over the decade I’ve been using Stitch Fix, I’ve had way more luck finding things I love than walking in a store. I don’t know if that’s my problem or what, but I am a fan after all these years! They also have a way of knowing exactly what will actually fit my body type which is not the case when I pull sizes off the shelf at stores!
Keep: Les Serein Marlina mixed Media Pleated Dress
I love this dress for the fall and I can add my black denim jacket if it’s chilly.
Keep: Daniel Rainn Magnolia Blouse
This black top is a v-neck and has really fun sleeves! Obviously black is my favorite color to buy : )
Return: Flag & Anthem Edina Button Down Shirt
I liked this top, but I ended up sending it back because it was priced a little high compared to similar tops on sale this week. Kind of wish I’d kept it now!
Return: Mason & Belle Marielle Maxi Dress
This dress was a steal at $23, but ultimately it was just a little too big for me! I could have hemmed it but was feeling too lazy to do that in the moment.
Return: Dizzy Lizzy Lace Long Sleeve Mini Dress
And this one was too short! I felt 23 but not really in a good way haha.
Return: Mason & Belle Betty Cozy Midi Dress
This dress was cozy and fit but I returned it because it felt a little too boring.
Workout Shoes
I aim to buy new workout shoes about once a year. My left foot had started hurting, so that was my sign to take advantage of the Black Friday sales and go for it! I got another pair of my favorite Metcons 30% off at Nike! They have a little lift in the back but not a ton of cushion under the toes so you can “feel the floor.”
I loved my purple shoes, but they didn’t have any purple in the 6s so I went with this pretty green!
House Shoes / Slippers
Another shoe I had worn to the sole (soul too, haha) were my Rothy’s slippers. I got the pink ones two years ago and have worn holes them. I thought about getting the same ones, but I decided to pivot and bought their clogs as my new “house shoes!”
While these are less fuzzy-slipper-y, they are more supportive! The foot bed is harder and curved like a Birkenstock, so I think they will be more supportive for wearing around the house. I usually wear socks in the winter, so I don’t think I’ll miss the fur that much.
Other Outfits
Momentum Seamless Top + Banana Republic Factory Girlfriend jeans
If you can’t tell through the screen, this top has lots of sparkles! I love that it’s “workout approved” but also can be great for casual daytime wearing. And these Girlfriend jeans are my new favorites!
Athleta Salutation jacket
I wear a jacket to the gym for the warmup and after class (when I’m cold from sweating) 3/4 of the year. I love a jacket that I can unzip. This one is lightweight (like a shirt) and buttery soft. It’s perfect for my all-black uniform, too!
Girlfriend Jeans in Black + Cozy Karma Twist Neck fleece
These are the same jeans in black, with the Cozy Karma Twist Neck top from Athleta! It’s SO COZY!
Geometry Towels
Famous for their hand towels (which I love), I got two of the new Geometry waffle bath towels! LOVE THEM. They are so soft and, most importantly, lightweight. They hold a ton of water (7x their weight apparently) but are quick dry as well. The perfect “wear on your head as a turban” towel!

That’s a wrap!
