A griddle breakfast sandwich is a delightful way to start the day, combining the hearty wholesomeness of breakfast staples with the convenience of a handheld meal. This sandwich typically features a combination of eggs, cheese, and a choice of breakfast meats, all cooked to perfection on a griddle. The use of a griddle allows for even cooking and the development of a slightly crisp exterior that adds an extra layer of texture and flavor to the sandwich.

IngredientsNeeded
- English muffins or bagels, split –I like Thomas Brand bagels or muffins
- Large eggs–The best type of eggs you can buy at the store are organic or free-range eggs, while others may prefer eggs from specific breeds of chickens
- Slices of sharp cheddar cheese –can use colby jack or pepper jack cheese slices as well
- Slices of cooked bacon or ham–I like the Hormel pre-cooked microwave bacon that you just stick in the microwave for 30 seconds but you can also use the griddle to cook it. Check out this post for How to Cook Bacon on a Blackstone Griddle!
- Butter or olive oilfor cooking the eggs and toasting the muffins
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional:Sliced avocado,tomato,or spinach for extra toppings
How to Make Blackstone Breakfast Sandwiches
- Prepare Griddle:Preheat your outdoor griddle to medium-high heat. Once heated, lightly grease the surface with butter or cooking spray.
- Toast the Bread:Place the split English muffins or bagels on the griddle, cut side down. Toast until they are golden brown, which should take about 2-3 minutes. Remove and set aside.
- Cook the Eggs:Reduce the griddle heat to medium. Crack the eggs onto the griddle. You can either cook the eggs sunny-side up,over-easy,or scramble them, depending on your preference. Season with salt and pepper. Cook until the whites are set and the yolks are done to your liking.
- Heat the Meat:If you’re using precooked bacon or ham, place it on the griddle to warm up. This should take about 1-2 minutes per side.
- Assemble the Sandwiches:Start by placing a slice of cheese on the bottom half of the toasted English muffin or bagel. Add the cooked egg on top of the cheese, followed by your choice of bacon or ham. If you’re adding extra toppings like avocado, tomato,or spinach, layer them on top of the meat. Finish by placing the other half of the English muffin or bagel on top.
- Warm the Sandwiches:For an extra melty and warm sandwich, you can place the assembled sandwiches back on the griddle for another minute or two, pressing down gently with a spatula.
- Serve:Remove the sandwiches from the griddle and serve immediately. Enjoy your delicious, homemade breakfast sandwiches!
Recipe Tips:
- Feel free to customize the sandwiches with your favorite ingredients.
- For a healthier option, you can use whole wheat muffins or bagels and add plenty of fresh veggies.
- If you’re cooking for a crowd, you can keep the finished sandwiches warm in a low oven (around 200°F) until ready to serve.
