Ingredients Needed
- 4 lb ground beef patties – The ones I used had chunks of cheddar and gouda in it. (80% lean for juicier burgers)
- 4 burger buns
- 4 slices of cheese (optional)
- Lettuce, tomato slices, pickles, and condiments (ketchup, mustard, mayo) for serving
How to Make Blackstone Burgers
Step 1 Heating the Griddle: Preheat your Blackstone griddle to medium-high heat. A griddle temperature of around 375°F to 400°F is perfect for cooking burgers. If you don’t have an electric griddle, you can also use a cast-iron griddle pan on your stovetop.
Step 2 Cooking the Patties: Once the griddle is hot, lightly grease it with a small amount of oil or butter to prevent sticking. Place the seasoned patties on the griddle, indentation side up. Cook the patties for about 3-4 minutes on the first side without moving them.
Step 3: This allows a nice crust to form. Flip the patties and cook for another 3-4 minutes on the other side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness (160°F for medium-well). If you’re adding cheese, place a slice on each patty in the last minute of cooking and cover the griddle with a lid or a large bowl to melt the cheese.
Blackstone Recipe Tips
Toasting the Buns: While the patties are cooking, you can toast the burger buns on the griddle as well. Simply place the buns cut-side down on the griddle for about 1-2 minutes until they are golden and crispy.
Assembling the Burgers: Once the patties are done, remove them from the griddle and let them rest for a minute. Assemble your burgers by placing a patty on the bottom half of each bun. Add your favorite toppings such as lettuce, tomato slices, pickles, and condiments. Top with the other half of the bun.
