Brooks Adrenaline GTS 24 Review

Brooks Adrenaline GTS 24 Introduction

The Brooks Adrenaline GTS 24 has been completely redone and updated with a new upper and outsole. It is a supportive road shoe. It’s been around for over 20 years and has been a fan favorite.

They are the first model that has nitrogen-infused DNA Loftv3 foam but still offers the trusted GuideRails stability technology. Brooks typically saves their DNA Loft v3 foam for their top-of-the-line shoes, like the Glycerin 21 but you can find it now in the Adrenalines.

It is a popular daily trainer geared towards overpronators and the neutral runner. You’ll noticehow stable it is and you can thank Brooks GuideRails technology. From the previous version, they have become more responsive, due to the new and improved midsole.

The heel drop is 12mm and overall this is a very firm and stable
shoe.

Brooks Adrenaline GTS 24 First Impressions

I have had my share of Brooks shoes and they all have a very similar vibe and look to them.
The new Adrenaline’s have not had a huge facelift but look up to date with the times.

I received the all-white/off-white pair and I typically don’t love that color scheme but these look sharp. The light upper with the black bottom looks very fresh and I love wearing them with my regular outfits for running errands.

From just looking at them, you can see how well made they are and that isn’t a surprise when talking about a Brooks shoe.

Being a big Brooks fan for many years, I have come to know how a Brooks shoe feels. That feeling is normally, supportive and comfortable. Putting them on for the first time I noticed right away how firm they felt all over.

The heel counter and midsole especially. Sometimes, I prefer a firmer shoe when I am using it for faster tempo or track workouts. These are geared towards an everyday trainer and they are not my first pick when it comes to wearing them for anything over 5 miles. If we are talking about walking in them, I will wear these all day and I do grab them for anything walking related.

My first run in them was a 5k on the treadmill. It wasn’t anything fast, just a get your blood flowing workout. During that first run, I could tell that they were a little too small. I would recommend sizing up a half-size. I just wear thinner socks with them now and that helps.

During my runs, I would notice how firm the midsole is but provide you with cushioning. It is one of the most stable shoes I have tested.

All in all, the Adrenaline is such aquality-made shoe that I found myself wearing it for all sorts of events.

An area other than walking would be training. I loved how dependable they were while doing strength training exercises. Especially anything that involved balancing or one-legged exercises.

Brooks Adrenaline GTS 24 Upper

The upper is made of engineered mesh, which is said to be very breathable. It has been very cold and snowy where I live, so it has been tricky to see how well it circulates air on hotter days, but on those colder days, my feet stay comfortable.

It provides a nice balance of breathability, stretch, and structure that helps to make it fit comfortably. Just like most companies, Brooks has begun to start to think bigger about the impact their products and their full life cycle have on people and the planet. That being said, they state that the upper is made out of 62.7% of recycled materials.

The heel collar has hefty padding that helps to secure your foot in place. Some overlays are strategically placed over the midfoot to help lock down the fit.

The gusseted tongue is thick but overall very comfortable. The laces are standard and nothing new to see. They stay in place and get the job done.

Brooks Adrenaline GTS 24 Sole Unit

Brooks Adrenaline is known for its stability so when talking about the midsole, this is where the shoe shines. Most notable is the nitrogen-infused cushioning that gives you a soft and lightweight ride.

You add that to their trusted GuideRail technology and you get an experience that leaves you comfy and reduces excess motion. You will be provided with top-notch lateral support. A fun fact is that Brooks shoes that use GuideRails Technology all have the to “GTS” or” Go To Support” in the name.

The outsole is noticeably reengineered. It has exposed foam as well as rubber. The new RoadTrack rubber outsole is made with recycled materials that provide you with great traction but also allow you to feel a soft landing.

I have worn them in all conditions and I have not had an issue with slipping except on snow and that’s to be expected.

The durability so far has been great. I have worn them for well over 50 miles and there is
little to no wear.

Brooks Adrenaline GTS 24 Conclusions

My conclusion of the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 24 would be that I do find myself reaching for them for all my walks. Wearing them all day for walks or errands is where I find I love using them the most.

I thoroughly enjoy the stable and supportive structure of them. Loving them for a daily running shoe? Not a huge fan of their firmness and bulkiness – but I appreciate that sometimes it’s the price you pay for outstanding stability.

They are great for shorter jogs but ideally a perfect walking shoe. If you are in the market for a shoe that is well made, durable, and stable, look no further and give them a shot.
