If Tadej Pogacar’s Pink V4Rs has you dreaming of a new Colnago but you’re looking for something a bit more affordable, you’re in luck. Colnago has just introduced the new V4, which promises to deliver a V4Rs-like ride at a more attainable price point.

At the top of the Colnago range for their road race bikes, the V4Rs is do-it-all frame with a claimed weight of 798g for an unpainted size 485 frame. The new V4 has a nearly identical look with matching geometry. Colnago states that the v4 uses the “same carbon layup R&D and aerodynamic studies,” as the V4Rs, but it’s not clear what if anything is different in the carbon construction. We’ve asked for clarification and will update you when we get it.

According to the press release, the big changes for the V4 come in the form of colors and build kits. The V4 will be offered in three colors – red, blue, or grey. It will also be offered in three build kits, though only the top-end Shimano Ultegra Di2 model will be offered in the US and UK. Other markets will get less expensive SRAM Rival and Shimano 105 Di2 builds.

Pricing for the Shimano Ultegra Di2 option is set at $6,250 which puts it about $2,000 less than the starting point for the V4Rs. The frame and fork include clearance for 700c x 30mm tires and the V4 will ship with an R10 stem with a choice between the Deda Zero2 DCR handlebar or the Colnago R41 handlebar.

The frame is compatible with mechanical or wireless groupsets in 1x or 2x configurations and sold in seven sizes.
