Could Delta Be Introducing a New Cabin Class? Here’s What We Know

As travelers are readying their 2025 travel goals, Delta may be preparing to give passengers more choices.

During its investor day presentation this week, Delta signified that the company could be rolling out new cabins and types of services for passengers to purchase beyond the six they currently sell.

In line with its options like Comfort+ and Premium Select, which are somewhat of a step between traditional fare classes, the airline hinted that additional classes of service could be coming in 2025 and beyond to “further segmentation aligning value to price.”

These fare classes offer perks like extra legroom and complimentary premium beverages.

“Delta has a long track record of listening and responding to customer feedback – including preferences for shopping, booking and experiencing travel – because meeting customers where their needs are is core to our mission,” a Delta Air Lines spokesperson shared in a statement with Travel + Leisure.

There is financial benefit to expanding the cabin selection, as more travelers have been purchasing premium tickets (such as Delta One or Premium Select), and the airline predicts it will earn more revenue from premium cabins than its main cabin by 2027.

During the investor event, the airline also shared they are making additional investments into airports which operate Delta flights, the lounge network, and providing more personalization through technology.

In October, the airline revealed a first-look at the new interior for its cabins which will soon be debuting on aircraft. The sleek, black and red seats have new cushions and many of the seats will have built-in memory foam for added comfort.
