What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?

I knew diabetes ran in my family. I was approaching 30 and I knew I was at high risk due to being very obese. I was pushing 300 lbs at only 5’2″.

I also had a thyroid issue that was developing. I knew I had too make changes or else I’d be ill.

How did you change your eating habits?

I began by cutting out fast food. It was hard as I was on the road a lot at the time, but I knew that was contributing to my weight. I eventually began Keto, and it changed my life. I still stick to a low-carb diet as it works the best for my body.

What is your workout routine?

I began weight training years ago but never stuck to it. I began watching Chris Jones on YouTube (@beastmodejones on IG) and adapted his upper body/ lower body split four days a week. This contributed to the first 90 lbs.

Then I started the HIIT 100 that can be found on muscleandfitness.com along with Keto and lost the last 30 pounds.

How often did you work out?

4-5 days a week

What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?

I started at 269 pounds. I’m now around 147 pounds.

What is your height?

I’m 5’2″.

When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?

I started in 2017, so around seven years.

Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?

Nope.

What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?

Be patient with yourself. You didn’t gain this weight overnight, so don’t be discouraged when you don’t lose overnight. It’s a marathon, not a sprint.

What advice do you have for women who want to lose weight?

Stay consistent; if you mess up, get back on the house IMMEDIATELY. Don’t let a cheat day turn into a cheat day turn into a cheat week.
