Races and Runs

Doomsday 50k – Cool, California

The second-year race ran on December 21 and saw 71 finishers. Sandra Sperry (Canada) and Samuel Cooper led the group in 6:03 and 5:33. Full results.

Woodside Ramble Winter 50k – Woodside, California

The women’s winner ran 4:52 but isn’t named in the results. Let us know in the comments if you know their name. Men’s winner Adam Roeder finished in 4:23. Full results.

Across the Years – Peoria, Arizona

The Aravaipa Running festival goes from December 28, 2024, to January 3, 2025. There are still several days to go then on a new 1.42-mile loop and some of the event’s 16 different contests haven’t yet started. Highlights so far have included Sierra DeGroff winning the December 28 100k overall in 9:06. On that same day, Sarah Zentack and Matt Collins ran 19:46 and 14:48 for 100 miles. The 200-mile, 48-hour, 72-hour, and six-day races are still going on. Tracking.

Arctic Frog – Mayville, Wisconsin

The 50k winners Mimi Bradley and Tyler Owens finished in 5:11 and 4:26. Full results.

Tuscobia Winter Ultra – Park Falls, Wisconsin

The race is self-supported with run, bike, and ski options and 80-mile one-way or 160-mile out-and-back race distances. It looks like Terry Dreves was the women’s 80-mile run winner in 22:23, and Adam Kerr was first man in 22:15. The 160-mile run was an even greater race of attrition with, it appears, only three finishers: men’s winner Jeff Leuwerke in 53:58, and women’s first and second, Simone Valentin Austin and Faye Norby, in 54:41 and 60:45 respectively. Tracking.

Lookout Mountain 50 Mile – Lookout Mountain, Georgia

The longtime race crowned Aden St Charles and Devon Brodmyer as champs in 10:12 and 7:48. Full results.

Charleston 100 Mile – Charleston, South Carolina

It was the seventh year for the low-country run. Christi Ballagh and Anthony Brungard were top finishers in 22:48 and 14:55. Brungard was over five hours in front of the next finisher. Full results.

Ancient Oaks 100 Mile – Titusville, Florida

Michelle Toppi and Casey Thivierge were the fastest in 29:09 and 23:05. Full results.

Peace River 50k – Bartow, Florida

There were just 33 finishers but a prize purse of $5,000. The race was a preview for 2025’s 100-mile run that promises an even greater prize purse. Race winners Nikki Criscuolo and Jonathan Mott each won $1,250 for their 4:40 and 3:41 winning times. Full results.

Jupiter Ridge Sand Spur – Jupiter, Florida

Brenda Lips and Alan Davidson ran the seven-lap 50k course in 5:20 and 4:40 on December 28. Full results.

NoFlo Holiday Run 50k – Winter Springs, Florida

A small group was led by Nobie Clark and Brad Berg in 4:45 and 4:40. Full results.
