Bodybuilding icon Nick Walker won the New York Pro 2024, making a triumphant return to competitive bodybuilding. However, despite being among the elite bodybuilders in the world, he didn’t have an easy time beating the competition. Now, many fans have claimed that the NY Pro had the best line-up of the year, so far.
Some have claimed that the 2024 edition of the New York Pro had an even better lineup than this year’s Arnold Classic. The NPC IFBB Pro League contest is among the most prestigious contests of the year. A total of 19 competitors participated in the open category. However, all eyes were on a select few.
Nick Walker was in the driving seat of the excitement in New York. The bodybuilding icon suffered a last-minute injury and withdrew from last year’s Mr. Olympia. As one of the favorites to win the Olympia last year, Walker had a lot to prove at this year’s New York Pro. However, this wasn’t the only thing that had developed around Walker.

Fans wanted to see the rivalry between Nick Walker, Martin Fitzwater, and Tonio Burton play out in New York. The Mutant’s lackluster guest passing session in Pittsburgh a week before the NY Pro also added to the drama. Many thought the 29-year-old would come up short against Walker and Tonio Burton.
Many were also excited to see Stuart Sutherland, aka Beef Stu, compete against the elites. In the end, Walker emerged the victor by only one point after an exciting showdown with the others. It seems many are still holding on to that excitement.

Bodybuilding fans didn’t just praise the lineup
While the Arnold Classic had a lineup of more veteran and established bodybuilders, the NY Pro was all about the hungry young bodybuilders. “This was a great show!!! The lineup was insane,“ wrote one fan. “The best show so far even better than the Arnold,“ wrote a second fan. “Such a freaking solid lineup,” a third fan commented.

However, some fans thought Martin Fitzwater should’ve won the show. “Personally would’ve had Martin winning the show tbh. Love Nick but the only pose he really wins is maybe the side chest? both front poses go to Martin and the back is close,“ wrote a fan. “Everyone was saying that it was a dominating victory for Nick no one was voting or talking about Martin, but when they knew that it was a one-point difference, now you see everyone is voting and talking about Martin,“ commented another.
This year’s New York Pro was truly special. Nick Walker had to live up to the hype and walked away as a two-time champion. However, do you agree that the NY Pro 2024 was even better than this year’s Arnold Classic? Tell us in the comments.
