Frontier Airlines is adding a new perk to its airline credit card, making it easier than ever to jet around the country on an epic ski or golf trip.
The low-cost airline will now allow World Mastercard card holders to check two large bags for free on Frontier-operated flights, Frontier recently announced. Those checked bags also include oversized items like golf or ski equipment.
The perk is open to primary cardholders on flights purchased with the card on Frontier’s website or through the company’s mobile app. There is also no limit to how many times travelers can take advantage.
“Our cardmembers spoke, and we listened,” Bobby Schroeter, the chief commercial officer at Frontier Airlines, said in a statement. “This new benefit, combined with existing perks… makes our card a must-have for any traveler looking to maximize value and convenience on every flight.”
In addition to the new benefit, Frontier Airlines World Mastercard cardholders receive miles that don’t expire, award travel with no blackout dates, Zone 2 priority boarding, and a $100 flight voucher every year after spending $2,500 or more on purchases.
Travelers who sign up for the card for the first time will also receive Frontier’s Elite Gold Status for 90 days after their first purchase with the card. That status can then be extended to 12 months when members spend $3,000 within the first 90 days.
Frontier, which recently eliminated nearly all change and cancellation fees, has been venturing into more luxe offerings lately, including introducing a new economic business class, called BizFare, and adding an “UpFront Plus” option, which allows travelers to purchase seats in the first two rows with a blocked middle seat.
Beyond perks gained with credit cards or by booking a higher fare class, Frontier remains an ultra-low-cost airline and typically charges passengers for everything from seat assignments to baggage.
