He caved. I need to work on it.

(beanie, leggings, shirt)

6 miles at 8:18 pace. I had to ask my friends a few times to slow down because I was puffing air, and guess what? They didn’t care and slowed down for me. Don’t worry if you ever need to ask your running friends to slow down during an easy run, we all have to at different times!

Maddie had the new Novablast 5s on, and they were gorgeous. I think I will gift myself a pair of these this year. I have loved the Novas since I first tried them in 2021, and I swear they are a running shoe that actually get better and better with each model.

Post-run yoga and then snuggles by the fire.

It turns out when kids ask their dad 874 times for something, he finally caves:

We hit up the mountain for a few hours. Beck can do greens all on his own now after ski school. We were so proud.

And then Beck went into the lodge with my MIL, and we went to the more challenging runs with my FIL. He is so good at skiing he doesn’t even need snow pants because he never falls.

Skye fell asleep in the car afterward while we were still all taking off of our gear. Kids sleep so good after skiing.

My MIL spoiled us with bringing down dinner, too. She had potato cheddar soup and rolls for us which hit the spot after skiing.

Andrew’s parents won with this gift. They have 25 grandchildren of all different ages, so Christmas shopping isn’t very simple. They decided to get them all one of these survival kits, and they nailed it. It’s perfect for the older grandkids to put into their cars for emergencies, and my kids all LOVE theirs to play with (we took out any of the dangerous pieces to add back in when age-appropriate). I got one too for my car, and I am very happy to have this now.

It turns out that this is all a 4-year-old could ever want. My yard is going to be full of holes from their personal shovels;).

He feels so official now.

We also had a Christmas party for Beck’s school last night. I could sleep for 17 hours straight after yesterday. I’m sure everyone is feeling this same way.

And now for three more random things:

*Day #18 of my Peppermint December Streak. These are so good.

*Skye will roll down the mountain without flinching, but brushing her hair is her worst nightmare until NOW! I was given this brush at a favorite things party, and she has never been happier brushing her hair. I don’t understand how it works so well, but trust Skye’s opinion on this topic.

*Beck told me yesterday when we got out of the car at BYU that I need to work on not parking on the lines so much, so I’ll be practicing that today. He is already a backseat driver, but as a former driver’s ed teacher, I’m happy he is aware of the rules;)

Ever done any type of streak before or currently?

What shoes are you running in most often lately?

Have you been to a favorite things party? What did you bring and what did you get?

Last candy that you ate or is candy not your thing?
