Why You Will Like This Recipe

I used to have this recipe on my site but adapted it for the air fryer.

Frozen chicken wings are easy to make in the air fryer like any other frozen item. Just drop them in the basket add a little olive oil and seasonings and air fry them for 20 minutes.

The air fryer is a great appliance to use if you love serving appetizers like frozen chicken wings during family gatherings or get together. Instead of using the oven it also takes up less space.

Ingredients Needed for Honey Sriracha Chicken Wings

  • 2 pounds chicken wings – I used a bag of frozen roasted Perdue chicken wings.
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil – can sub olive oil or canola oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Sauce

  • 5 tablespoons unsalted butter – I always prefer unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour – to help thicken the sauce
  • ¼ cup honey
  • ¼ cup Sriracha*
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce – can sub Worcestershire Sauce
  • Juice of 1 lime

Equipment: Air fryer, parchment paper, Tongs or a spatula

How to Make Honey Sriracha Chicken Wings

Step 1 Preheat air fryer to 400 degrees F. Line the air fryer basket with parchment paper.

Step 2 Melt butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Whisk in flour until lightly browned, about 1 minute. Stir in honey, Sriracha, soy sauce and lime juice. Bring to a boil; simmer until slightly thickened, about 1-2 minutes.

Step 3 In a large bowl, combine wings, butter, vegetable oil, garlic powder, salt and pepper, to taste.

Honey sauce melted in pan.

Place wings in air fryer basket and air fry for 20 minutes, using metal tongs to turn at halftime.

Brush wings with Sriracha glaze and broil for 3-4 minutes, or until crisp and crusted.

Serve immediately, garnished with cilantro and sesame seeds, if desired.

What can I serve with Chicken Wings?

  1. Celery Sticks – A classic side that provides a refreshing crunch.
  2. Carrot Sticks – Another crunchy, fresh option that balances the heat of the wings.
  3. Blue Cheese Dressing – A creamy dip that complements spicy wings perfectly.
  4. Ranch Dressing – A popular alternative to blue cheese for dipping. Here’s my recipe for Homemade Ranch Dressing.
  5. French Fries – Crispy and salty, they are a great accompaniment. Try out this easy recipe for Air Fryer Frozen French Fries or Onion Rings in the air fryer.
  6. Onion Rings – Golden and crunchy, they add a delightful texture.

I have two air fryers. The Cosori 4 Qt Air Fryer and Ninja Woodfire Grill which is an outdoor air fryer. It’s pretty awesome! It has 5 different functions on it.

How do I store leftovers?

Always store leftovers in clean, food-grade containers. The type of container doesn’t really matter. Use zip lock, glass, plastic, whatever! Make sure to store any leftovers in an airtight container.

Best Air Fryer Tips

  1. Preheating ensures that the fries cook evenly and achieve the desired crispiness.
  2. Avoid Overcrowding: Cooking in smaller batches will help the fries cook more evenly and get crispier.
  3. Shaking the Basket: Shaking the basket halfway through cooking helps ensure that all the fries cook evenly.
  4. Experiment with Seasonings: Feel free to experiment with different seasonings like garlic powder, paprika, or Cajun spice to add an extra kick to your fries.
