IHG’s Summer Sale Has Up to 25% Off Hotel Stays Around the World

IHG is kicking off summer right with a major sale that has up to 25 percent off hotels around the world.

The sale, which must be booked by May 21, has big savings on participating hotels across the United States, Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, Asia, and beyond, IHG shared with Travel + Leisure. The sale is available for travel from May 24 through Sept. 2.

“IHG’s Summer Flash Sale features beaches, cities and nature-filled getaways with a deeper discount for our IHG One Rewards members,” Michael Menis, the SVP of global marketing for IHG, told T+L. “With 19 unique brands to choose from, we have a hotel and destination for every type of traveler this summer – whether you’re traveling solo, reconnecting with friends or celebrating a well-deserved milestone.”

All travelers can save 20 percent off hotels, while members of the IHG One Rewards loyalty program can save up to 25 percent off the same properties. Members also receive other perks like complimentary room upgrades, free breakfasts, and more.

Hotels booked with the sale must be pre-paid and are non-refundable. The sale can be booked online on IHG’s website.

Head to Cancun for a beachy getaway with 20 percent off a stay at the InterContinental Presidente Cancun Resort, for example, or head all the way to the shores of Phuket with a discounted stay at the Hotel Indigo Phuket Patong. Travelers can also book a city escape to the Big Apple at the Kimpton Hotel Theta in the Theater District, or head to the InterContinental The Strings Tokyo to explore Japan.

The sale comes as the summer travel season is about to heat up and hotel prices are expected to average $240 per night during June, July, and August, according to booking app Hopper. Weekends are expected to be even pricier, averaging 20 percent more on Friday and Saturday nights.

Popular destinations include domestic getaways in small towns like Cape Cod, Massachusetts, and Bar Harbor, Maine; as well as international juggernauts like Osaka, Japan; Seoul, South Korea; and Nice, France.
