Hike through thrilling jungle terrain, explore a breathtaking network of underground caverns, and rappel down a stunning waterfall with a heart-pounding descent into the Belizean rainforest. Then, sail along the world’s second-largest barrier reef on a private yacht charter, exploring picture-perfect Caribbean islands and crystal-clear blue water. 

Here’s exactly how to spend seven amazing nights in Belize.

Day One

With direct flights from 15 major hubs in the U.S. and two in Canada, Belize has become far more accessible in recent years, which means your adventure starts the moment you arrive. One of the most scenic introductions to the country is taking a helicopter tour directly from the international airport over the Maya Mountains and cascading waterfalls to the Valley Stream Private Eden jungle hotel. Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted by your dedicated concierge, chef, bartender, and housekeeper.

Day Two

Enjoy an early morning breakfast before heading out on a full-day spelunking adventure at Actun Tunichil Muknal Cave led by Dr. Rafael Guerra, a renowned Belizean archaeologist and cave expert. Hike through the jungle, cross rivers, and swim into this sacred cave with an hourglass-shaped entrance. Climb through interior cathedrals housing ceramic and skeletal remains from ancient sacrificial ceremonies. 

Top off your adventure with a traditional Maya five-course meal with a modern twist prepared by the Tzib family from the Yucatec Maya community of San Antonio. Try your hand at making corn tortillas and help put the finishing touches on the delectable dishes you’ll enjoy.

Day Three

On the third day, head south to Mayflower Bocawina National Park. During your hike to Antelope Falls, you’ll encounter abundant flora and fauna as you traverse the verdant jungle. At 1,000 feet elevation, the top of the waterfall provides a spectacular vantage point from which to take in the stunning landscape of the neighboring valleys and mountains. Rappel 250 feet on the edge of the waterfall and rocky cliff. Then, get back to solid ground and cool off in the emerald pool below. 

Day Four

Helicopter from the lush green jungles to the azure waters of the Caribbean Sea. Land at Gladden Private Island, where you’ll board a private catamaran, equipped with a captain and chef. The sail takes you to your next stop at Silk Cayes Marine Reserve. Spend the afternoon snorkeling among an abundance of marine life, and then anchor for sunset at North Long Coco Caye, an island that’s less than 40 acres.

Days Five through Seven

For your final three nights, sail along tiny postcard-perfect islands, or “cayes,” starting at Carrie Bow Caye, where vibrant corals and colorful fish await. Continue to the exclusive South Water Caye, a 12-acre paradise perched on the barrier reef. Snorkel with grunts, groupers, and eels, then unwind with a cold Belikin beer. Sail on to Tobacco Caye, a charming five-acre coral island fringed with palm trees. Next, explore the Colson Cayes, a magical collection of mangrove islands home to manatees and dolphins, and experience incredible snorkeling on untouched reefs. Enjoy your last Belizean sunset at the serene Rendezvous Caye, where manta rays will come to shore to bid you farewell — until next time, that is.
