JetBlue Launches New Status Match Program — What to Know

JetBlue just launched a new ongoing status matching program for elite frequent fliers.

The airline’s “Match to Mosaic” program will gift complimentary Mosaic 1 or Mosaic 2 status to travelers with elite status on Delta Air Lines, United Airlines, American Airlines, or Alaska Airlines, JetBlue shared with Travel + Leisure on Tuesday. Customers will be able to enjoy the benefits of Mosaic status for three months and have the chance to keep it longer by earning additional tiles during that time period.

“Now, you can fast-track your Mosaic status,” JetBlue wrote as part of the promotion. “Once approved, you’ll enjoy Mosaic 1 or 2 status for 3 months — plus the chance to extend your status through the end of the next calendar year.”

Travelers who hold Delta’s Silver or Gold status, United’s Premier Silver or Premier Gold status, America’s AAdvantage Gold or AAdvantage Platinum status, or Alaska’s MVP or MVP Gold status will receive Mosaic 1 status on JetBlue, which comes with priority upgrades to Mint suites. Travelers with higher status on those airlines will receive Mosaic 2 status on JetBlue, which similarly comes with priority upgrades to Mint suites along with pet fee waivers.

Customers can then keep or upgrade their Mosaic status by earning tiles. Travelers who earn 10 tiles in the three month time period will receive Mosaic 1 status through the end of the following year, customers who earn 25 tiles in the three month time period will receive Mosaic 2 status, and customers who earn 40 tiles in the three month time period will receive Mosaic 3 status.

Travelers earn one tile for every $100 in qualifying purchases, including on JetBlue and with JetBlue Vacations. Travelers can also earn one tile for every $1,000 in eligible spending on JetBlue’s credit cards.

To apply for status matching, travelers must submit a screenshot of their frequent flyer program profile showing their full name and proof of status. If they are matching to Mosaic 2, they must also show a screenshot or photo of their most recent boarding pass or flight confirmation showing their status. Travelers must also have an existing TrueBlue account.

Last year, the airline overhauled its TrueBlue loyalty program. Now, travelers who reach the first status tier, Mosaic 1, receive perks like two free checked bags, free inflight beer, wine, and liquor, or free upgrades to “Even More Space” seats.

This isn’t the first time JetBlue has status matched for other airlines. Last year, the airline  agreed to status match Delta Air Lines customers after Delta changed how passengers could earn status.
