8 miles @ 8:18 pace for my Tuesday morning, and mile repeats are on the docket today.
The kids all made the biggest deal about Beck’s first day of school. Once his eyes were open yesterday, he was ready to head out the door in minutes.
I cried myself to sleep the night before because of this change, but I woke up excited for the next phase. I wish I could always have my morning brain.
He wanted to go to the Nature School that Skye went to for preschool, but that school is right next to the river, and he is a runner, so we had to find somewhere new for him to go. So far, so good, and he loved his first day.
He requested to go for pumpkin chocolate chip bread afterward, and so we went for pumpkin chocolate chip bread and discussed all of the preschool happenings. I’ve learned to only believe about 15% of the preschool stories that my kid’s have told me;)
Remember how I had a streak going for ice baths? Well, I stopped and hadn’t done one in a week or two and I couldn’t believe how much harder it was when I jumped in at Athlecare. I only lasted half the time I normally do.
The kids had a cross-country race! It was a 1k, and I couldn’t believe how well they did. Even Beck ran the whole way!
They said the jump right before the finish line was the hardest part. I love seeing them working hard for something.
We went straight for ice cream to celebrate their accomplishments. It was kind of my perfect night:)
We finished up with hanging out in my sister’s backyard.
And for just a few more random things before I let you go:
*September is when we start listening to Halloween music. We had a massive rain and lightning storm last night as we drove around listening to Halloween tunes. Andrew was very happy.
*Did anyone listen to Des and Kara’s episode about what Kara’s son went through with an infection in his rib?! It reminded me of so much of what Brooke went through and brought back allllll of the feelings.
*These two constantly measure who has bigger feet or who is taller. They aren’t very competitive with each other, being the same age, except when it comes to who is growing up faster. I’m really interested to see how tall Brooke will be; she is taller than I was at her age, and I’m 5’8.75″… I think she will be taller than me.

What was the last podcast that you listened to?
Who has kids that are very close in age… how close?
Is your night and morning brain quite different, too?
Andrew is wondering when you think the appropriate day is to decorate for Halloween?
