Ready to jump-start the holiday season? Put on your wildest festive gear and join the Santa Shuffle. This fun and feel-good event is all about embracing the season’s cheer while making a difference. Every year, runners and walkers help The Salvation Army support people in need, creating a powerful blend of community spirit and holiday joy. Here’s what you need to know.
The Santa Shuffle kicked off 34 years ago in Edmonton, thanks to a group of enthusiastic Running Room members who saw a chance to blend their love of running with a worthy cause. Since then, it’s grown into a nationwide celebration with events in every province, spanning 27 locations across Canada.
On race day, you can choose between a 5K Fun Run or a 1K Elf Walk, with participants encouraged to don their funkiest festive attire. To cap off the holiday fun, everyone receives a one-of-a-kind Santa Shuffle shirt and finisher medal for a bit of well-earned sparkle. Can’t make it to an in-person event? No worries! This year’s Santa Shuffle has a virtual option. The Santa Shuffle kicks off on Dec. 7 and is packed with fresh surprises—like pledge incentives, new medals and shirts and a best-dressed contest.
You can sign up for the 2024 Santa Shuffle until Dec.1. Here’s how to find a Santa Shuffle event near you.
