Kygo Opens Palm Tree Club Miami Hotel

Norwegian producer and DJ Kygo is making waves in Miami this month, but not on the music scene. Instead, he opens a new hotel today just minutes from Miami Beach, along Biscayne Bay.

Palm Tree Club Miami hotel took over the beloved Shuckers Waterfront Grill & Hotel in North Bay Village and transformed it into a “dynamic gathering place for the community,” according to Myles Shear, Kygo’s business partner and co-founder of the duo’s entertainment and hospitality company Palm Tree Crew.

“By revitalizing this historic North Bay Village destination, we’re offering locals and visitors alike a place to connect, unwind, and celebrate Miami’s coastal lifestyle, all while enjoying unforgettable sunsets and the vibrant spirit of Palm Tree Crew,” Shear told Travel + Leisure.

Guests of the renovated 115-room property will enjoy vibrant tropical-inspired interiors, a waterfront pool and deck with chaise lounges, a 24-hour gym, and live music and events.

The guest rooms have private balconies with seating areas, water views, and sliding doors, while the interiors are clad in pops of pastel hues, vibrant wallpaper, and fun art. In the bathrooms, travelers will find Molton Brown toiletries and colorfully printed bathrobes.

One of the property’s highlights is the waterfront restaurant and cocktail bar, which offers views of Biscayne Bay, open-air seating, and a menu of American classics and seafood. A lineup of live music and entertainment events is in the works and will take place at a stage adjacent to the restaurant. So far, the property has confirmed performances by American DJ Diplo and British funk band Jungle, with more to be announced in the coming weeks.

Nestled between the restaurant and the hotel is a scenic pool area designed for the Instagram age with striped green umbrellas and chaise lounges in vibrant tropical-print upholstery, all set against panoramic views of Miami and the bay.

And if, in true Florida fashion, you prefer to sail, the hotel also has a 20-slip marina offering dine-and-dock services.

“Palm Tree Club Miami reimagines the iconic Shuckers waterfront retreat with a design that seamlessly blends Miami’s historic MiMo [Miami Modernist] architecture and art deco interiors with modern, tropical-inspired elements,” Allie Eichner, president of Continuum Company, the hotel’s developer, told T+L. “We wanted to preserve the spirit of this landmark property while infusing it with fresh energy — creating a space where timeless charm meets a laid-back, vibrant atmosphere that feels distinctly Miami.”

Nightly rates at Palm Tree Club Miami start from $199, and you can book your stay at palmtreeclubmiami.com.
