Happy October, Happy Anniversary!

October always kicks off so many special dates starting with our wedding anniversary. (If you’re new, check out all of my wedding posts here!)

Anniversary Dinner at Fleurie

To celebrate seven years we went to Fleurie! I would argue pretty strongly that Fleurie is Cville’s fanciest restaurant. The whole dining experience is just outstanding! We had a gorgeous night to sit out on the patio.

The menu is set at three courses, but you get LOTS of little surprises throughout the meal.

Like the sampler to start! I loved the beet with truffled goat cheese and blackberry on the right.

I started with the herby salad which was incredible. I really think fresh herbs are the key to elevating a salad from good to great.

My favorite bite of the evening was this smoked salmon salad topped with a lemony dill panna cotta.

For my entree I went with the filet mignon with homemade gnocchi and a Bourdeaux blend. Chefs kiss!

Apple tart with the softest vanilla ice cream and plenty of salted caramel. Thomas’s chocolate bomb was also pretty epic!

Final treats of the night!

Spooky Season

October 1 also marks permission to bring out all things Halloween. Our neighbor, Annie, is huge into Halloween and got a head start much to Birch’s delight. We’ve been stopping by to see which skeletons have been put out since the day before.

“Mom take my picture with these tombstones”

Garden kitty

Ellen’s cat Millie was feeling the spooky vibes too!

Remembering what it feels like to have a baby on my hip!

My little sweetie <3

It’s hard to believe Birch was ever that small! We can barely pick him up now. But he’s still just as snuggly.

Luke Bryan Farm Tour 2024

If you caught my reel on Instagram, I went to Smithton, PA for a quick visit for the Luke Bryan Farm Tour. Farm Tour is more than a concert for 20,000 set up in a field – it is a way to raise awareness of rural care deserts and increase access for those experiencing hunger. Farmers work tirelessly to provide the food so many Americans rely on. Farm Tour is part of Bayer’s broader “Take Care, Now” campaign to raise awareness, educate communities, and facilitate access to health and nutrition. I had a great time helping promote #HeresToTheFarmer. This fall, use #HerestotheFarmer to celebrate American farmers, and Bayer will donate up to 1 million meals to people in need through Feeding America. Join the campaign and show your support now through November 30.

VP Debate

Well that was interesting : )

Huge fan of Chris’s Snacklebox!

Folex

Also a huge fan of Folex! We had water come up from our basement foundation during the heavy rains of September. I thought we might have to replace the carpet! But once it was all dried out, Folex got out the stains in under a minute.

Kath Eats Real Food

Small round up of meals! Blue Apron has new 15 minute meals that come with already cooked meats and/or grains. This quinoa bowl was one! We cooked the chicen and peppers but the quinoa was ready to heat and eat. I love how quick and easy these are! Get 50% off the first 4 weeks of a new subscription here.

Have a great weekend!
