Today, San Diego, California’s milling masters, 5DEV released their new Titanium Road Gravel and XC Cranks. These cranks combine advanced engineering, CNC machining, and robotic laser welding – all done in their facility in sunny San Diego, California.
The new cranks made my Best of Sea Otter list. I got to see them up close and personal…and they are quite good-looking. Let’s check out the details.
Innovative Material and Design
The new 5DEV Titanium cranks are crafted from hollow, laser-welded titanium and then finished on 5-axis CNC machines. The cranks weigh 450g for the 170mm arm length and road spindle.
Versatility and Compatibility
5DEV offers their new cranks in 165mm, 170mm, and 175mm lengths. The cranks will feature adaptable Q factors for Road, Road Wide, and XC setups. There will be shorter sizes available in the Fall of 2024.
8 Bolt Pattern Compatibility
The new 5DEV Titanium cranks are compatible with SRAM 8 Bolt Interface, Quarq Power Meters, and SRAM 1X and 2X chainrings as well as their 5DEV 42t and 52t Aero rings. They will integrate with Quarq DFour DUB Power Meter for Shimano 2X, with a Shimano 2X Spider coming mid-summer in 2024.
