Little Ceasars Crazy Puffs Recipe

When I was a kid growing up I really loved Little Ceasar’s Pizza in the 80s and 90s. Now they have Crazy Puffs which to me is like a little mini muffin pizza that’s dipped in garlic butter sauce.

Little Ceasar's Crazy Puffs

So, I’ve got something to admit. I’ve been using Door Dash quite often lately and sometimes I’ll order these crazy puffs from Little Ceasar’s on there. They are so damn good with their garlic butter sauce. Everything tastes better dipped in garlic butter sauce I think. I’m surprised someone hasn’t made a tub of butter that’s garlic butter flavored yet. Or do they?

Anyways, the amount of times I order on that app makes me want to quit and I’ve been wanting to try making them at home because I love them so much. So here’s a recipe for you. Here’s a recipe for Crazy Puffs and I used Aldi pizza dough again.

Ingredients needed for Crazy Puffs

  • 1 package of Aldi pizza dough (or any store-bought pizza dough)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup of pizza sauce
  • 24 slices of pepperoni
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Garlic Butter Sauce

  • ¼ cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano

How to Make Little Ceasars Crazy Puffs

How to Make Crazy Puffs

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a muffin tin pan with some cooking spray.

Roll out the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface until it’s about ¼ inch thick.

Cut the dough into small rectangles, approximately 2×3 inches in size, and fit each piece of dough into a muffin tin. Shape the edges of the dough so that its around the cup.

In a medium bowl, combine the mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, and Italian seasoning.

Place a small spoonful of the cheese mixture onto each dough rectangle, then the pizza sauce, and pepperoni. Repeat a second time.

Brush the tops of the puffs with melted butter and sprinkle with salt and black pepper.

Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the puffs are golden brown.

While the puffs are baking, melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat.

Add the minced garlic and oregano, and sauté for about 1 minute, until fragrant.

How to Serve Crazy Puffs

Once the puffs are baked, remove them from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired. Serve warm with the garlic butter sauce for dipping.

Enjoy your homemade Crazy Puffs as a delicious appetizer or snack!

Recipe Tips for Perfect Crazy Puffs

  1. When working with pizza dough, ensure it’s at room temperature. This makes it more pliable and easier to roll out without tearing.
  2. Pepperoni Placement: For an extra pepperoni punch, consider chopping the slices and mixing them into the cheese blend before filling the dough.
  3. Sauce Control: Be cautious not to overfill with sauce to prevent the puffs from becoming soggy. A small spoonful is usually sufficient.
  4. Garlic Butter Sauce: For a more intense garlic flavor, let the minced garlic sit in the melted butter for a few minutes before adding the oregano.
  5. Cooling Time: Let the puffs cool slightly in the muffin tin before removing them. This allows them to set and makes removal easier.
  6. Storage and Reheating: If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Reheat in an oven or air fryer to maintain crispiness.

Description

When I was a kid growing up I really loved Little Ceasar’s Pizza in the 80s and 90s. Now they have Crazy Puffs which to me is like a little mini muffin pizza that’s dipped in garlic butter sauce.

  • 1 package of Aldi pizza dough (or any store-bought pizza dough)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup of pizza sauce
  • 24 slices of pepperoni
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano

Instructions

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C). This ensures even cooking and a perfect golden crust.
  2. Prepare the crescent roll dough by unrolling it and separating it into individual triangles.
  3. Wrap each mini sausage in a triangle of dough, starting at the wide end and rolling towards the point. Seal the edges by pressing the dough together gently.
  4. Place the wrapped sausages seam-side down in the air fryer basket, leaving space between each to allow even cooking.
  5. Brush the tops with beaten egg if desired, and sprinkle with sesame or poppy seeds for added flavor.
  6. Cook in the air fryer for 8-10 minutes, or until the dough is golden and crispy. Check at the 5-minute mark to ensure even cooking.
  7. Remove from the air fryer and let them cool slightly before serving. Enjoy them warm with your favorite dipping sauces like ketchup, mustard, or honey mustard.

Notes

  1. If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Reheat in an oven or air fryer to maintain crispiness.
