It looks like Mark from MAN v FAT Football in Chelmsford got a little lost on his way to last Thursday’s session.
Instead of turning up at his regular venue of Sandon Soccer, he ended up at the BT Sports Academy…in Florida!
Mark – pictured in the blue stripes on the back row – joined the Tampa Bay Blues for his international debut and even ended up on the score sheet, as he dropped in to see the guys as part of his summer holiday.
However, the victory was short lived in a way that only comes with MAN v FAT, the scales won the day and the Reds walked away with an impressive 11-7 win!
This didn’t spoil Mark’s trip though, as he told us: “A fantastic evening with the Tampa guys. I even managed to help the blues get their first win on the pitch!
“It was a great experience, all the guys were very welcoming and the set up was excellent. I bagged two in a 6-2 win on the pitch.
“Unfortunately, we lost overall though!
“I’m in their WhatsApp groups, so if another trip happens, I can get involved again.”
Thanks to Mark for being our first UK player to visit our American clubs – maybe an international friendly might be on the cards in the future!
