Marriott Bonvoy and Uber to Roll Out Partnership Changes — What Users Should Know

Marriott Bonvoy and Uber just announced a series of changes to apps’ partnerships.

Starting on Oct. 14, members of the hotel’s loyalty program will now be able to schedule UberX Reserve Rides directly in the Marriott Bonvoy app and earn 2 points per dollar on a reserved ride.

UberX Reserve has become a helpful feature for travelers looking to schedule a ride to an airport or elsewhere, up to 90 days in advance. Specifically for app users heading the airport, Uber will also track a traveler’s flight and automatically adjust the pick-up time if needed.

When it comes to ordering Uber Eats to a hotel, Uber is reducing the earn rate of restaurant and grocery orders that are delivered to a Marriott Bonvoy property from 6 points to 1 point, unless the guest is staying at Residence Inn, TownPlace Suites, or Element, where they will earn 2 points per dollar.

And for rides, users will still earn 3 points per dollar on premium Uber rides, which includes UberXL, Uber Comfort, Uber SUV, and Uber Black.

For passengers who subscribe to Uber One — the $96 annual subscription service that provides discounts on Uber rides and other perks — will also receive Marriott Bonvoy’s Silver Elite Status thanks to the brands’ partnership.

Members of other hotel loyalty programs are also privy to similar perks as Hilton Hotels’ Hilton Honors program members can earn 3 points for every $1 spent on Lyft rides, regardless of the category booked.

Travelers can link their accounts on Marriott’s website.
