This Ninja Creami Birthday Cake Ice Cream is a popular Italian frozen dessert that is similar to ice cream but distinct in several key ways. I used the base recipe for my Ninja Creami Gelato Recipe to make this and added in all the extract ingredients. It’s a good base recipe for ice cream!

One of the primary differences lies in its composition: gelato typically contains less fat than ice cream because it uses more milk and less cream. Additionally, it is churned at a slower speed, incorporating less air into the mixture and resulting in a denser and creamier consistency.

Why You Will Love this Ninja Creami Birthday Cake Ice Cream

This recipe for gelato requires just a few extra steps that includes a sauce pan. Once you get the base recipe down for gelato in the Ninja Creami feel free to add whatever Mix Ins You like. like adding Birthday cake extract to it or any other flavored extracts.

You have to get the temperature on the stove top to a certain degrees in order for it to be gelato.

I know this recipe isn’t dairy free, but this recipe is from the Ninja Creami recipe book that came with the machine. Hope you enjoy it. I don’t think this would be considered real authentic gelato if you tried using dairy free substitutes. Ha ha!

Ingredients Needed Ninja Creami Birthday Cake Ice Cream

  • 4 large egg yolks
  • 1 tablespoon light corn syrup
  • ¼ cup + 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ⅔ cup whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon of Cake Batter Extract
  • Rainbow colored Sprinkles
  • 1 whole vanilla bean, split in half lengthwise, scraped

How to Make Ninja Creami Birthday Cake Ice Cream

Step 1 Place egg yolks, corn syrup, and sugar into a small saucepan and whisk until fully combined and sugar is dissolved.

Step 2 Add heavy cream, milk, and vanilla bean to saucepan and stir to combine.

Place saucepan on stove over medium heat, stirring constantly with a rubber spatula. Cook until temperature reaches 165°F–175°F on an instant-read thermometer.

Step 3 Remove base from heat and pour through a fine-mesh strainer into an empty CREAMi™ Pint. Place pint into an ice bath. Once cooled, place storage lid on pint and freeze for 24 hours.

How to make Ninja Creami Gelato Birthday Cake Ice Cream.

Step 4 Remove pint from freezer and remove lid from pint. Place pint in outer bowl, install Creamerizer™ Paddle onto outer bowl lid, and lock the lid assembly on the outer bowl. Place bowl assembly on motor base and twist the handle right to raise the platform and lock in place.

Step 5 Select GELATO. Respin and add Sprinkles and cake batter extract.

  • Respin! If the blending didn’t work the first time try adding some more juice or milk to it and do a second respin.
  • The Ninja Creami is kind of loud when it is spinning in the machine. Just warning you before you attempt to make ice cream. 🙂
  • Mix-ins: Try adding fresh fruit, peanut butter cups, chocolate chips, Oreos, you name it!
  • Run warm water around the frozen pint of ice cream to avoid icy edges.

  • Ninja Creami Sorbet Ice Cream – 1 15 oz container of fruit cocktail + Plus
  • Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream 1 tablespoon cream cheese, ⅓ cup sugar, ¾ cup heavy cream, 1 cup milk, 1 – 2 drops of green food coloring, 2 tablespoons of chopped chocolate chips

How do I store leftovers?

Place the lid back on top of the pint and place it back in the freezer. Or, store in an airtight container as mentioned above.

Notes

Add in some crushed birthday cake mix in the respin.
