Kyle Busch’s fight with Ricky Stenhouse Jr has been the talk of the town this weekend. The No. 47 JTG Daughtery Racing car was deliberately bumped into the wall by Rowdy’s No. 8 RCR ride. While a few words were exchanged between the two drivers in the infield, Stenhouse Jr caught Busch off guard and threw a right hook at his driver. This was certainly payback for the treatment he received on the race track.
In theory, the RCR driver, Busch, was supposed to don the hat of the intimidator, as Dale Earnhardt once did for the team. But despite being in the presence of the No. 3 trailer, he found himself on the receiving end of a brawl. This aspect was highlighted by Pat McAfee and his team during their recent show that aired online on YouTube.

There are a lot of similarities between Dale Earnhardt and Kyle Busch. Therefore, when RCR had an opportunity to climb back to the pinnacle of Cup racing, they onboarded Busch. Apart from his abilities to win races and contend for championships, he has a similar aggressive racing style that has fared well for the team in the past.
Not only that, Dale Sr is often in the news for stirring up controversies, and Busch is continuing the traditions for RCR after being involved in a ruckus at North Wilkesboro. Highlighting the involvement of the intimidator during the fight, one of the hosts at the Pat McAfee show stated, “You see what trailer that happened at? That old number three back there… Dale had a little part in that.”
Adding to this sentiment, Pat McAfee added, “Well, Austin Dillon is now running the three, and I think that was a big conversation whenever it all happened.” He also shared his take on the beef between the two drivers that has been brewing up behind the scenes. “But yeah, Ricky was waiting on it. Ricky was I don’t like the way you’re driving out there. I saw some quotes out there, Ricky and Kyle got into a couple of years back so but then I guess they feel like they both race hard so they have a mutual respect.”

However, McAfee thinks that this wasn’t a one-off incident between the two drivers. Predicting more encounters and skirmishes in the near future. “I think that there’s a little NASCAR heat between KY and Ricky Stenhouse Jr and I do believe their next race something is coming up this weekend. Let’s see what the boys do.”
Stenhouse Jr does not hold a grudge against Kyle Busch
The Daytona 500 winner shared in an interview with FOX how the tension between him and Busch had been building up ever since their encounter at a race in Daytona. “I wrecked him one time at Daytona, and he’s kind of badmouthed me ever since then… So definitely just built up frustration with how he runs his mouth all the time about myself.”

With all the drama and chaos that unfolded, there has to be more retaliation by the JTG Daughtery driver in the upcoming race. But surprisingly, he doesn’t see himself getting into Busch after being able to settle his disagreement with a fistfight. “Yeah, I don’t have anything else for him. I mean, if we wanna do a charity match, I would do that to raise some money for the NASCAR foundation. That would be fun. But really other than that, I don’t have a hold-up for him.”
However, given the torrid outing Rowdy is having in 2024, we can expect retaliation from his side. With the Coca-Cola 600 lined up for this weekend, we just might see tempers flying on the track once again.
