A miracle at Madison Square Garden! After clinching a commanding 3-1 lead by winning Game 4 in Philadelphia, the New York Knicks hoped to finish the job tonight in their home court. However, the Sixers were reluctant to let their season end early. Despite the reigning MVP Joel Embiid not playing his best basketball, his newfound co-star Tyrese Maxey took over the game and might have saved the Sixers’ season with a clutch shot in the closing minutes of the game.
Fans at MSG were ready to celebrate as the Knicks led the game by three points with less than ten seconds remaining on the clock. However, their roar soon turned into silence as Maxey pulled up from the Knicks logo and drained a huge three point shot to tie the game, and eventually send it to overtime. And Maxey’s dominance did not end there as he took over in overtime as the Sixers led by four points with over one minute remaining. And Maxey’s heroic performance left NFL star Patrick Mahomes and the NBA World in a frenzy.
