Delta’s new promotion may be your excuse to actually use your SkyMiles this summer.
On its webpage dedicated to SkyMiles Deals, Delta just released a list of promotional fares on domestic and international flights for its reward members.
Travel + Leisure spotted one-way discounts including:
- Miami (MIA) to New York, NY (NYC) – 9,000 Miles (Basic Economy) or 16,000 Miles (Main Cabin)
- Austin (AUS) to Sydney, Australia (SYD) – 90,000 Miles (Basic Economy) or 100,000 Miles (Main Cabin)
- Boston (BOS) to Copenhagen, Denmark (CPH) – 87,000 Miles (Basic Economy) or 108,000 Miles (Main Cabin)
- Detroit (DTW) to Paris, France (CDG) – 78,000 Miles (Basic Economy) or 100,000 Miles (Main Cabin)
These options do not include taxes and fees and are subject to availability.
There are also several deals from New York’s LaGuardia (LGA) and John F. Kennedy (JFK) airports, to several Florida airports including Tampa, Fort Lauderdale, and Orlando, all starting at 9,000 miles for a one-way basic economy ticket on travel between June 9 and June 14.
The savings can be quite substantial, as some of the routes can regularly cost as much as 65,000 miles more than the discounted price. For example, T+L spotted the one-way deal from Austin to Sydney Australia for 90,000 miles, where the regular fare during a non-sale period was 155,000 miles.
For those with a surplus of miles and uncertainty of where to go, Delta also has helpful filters such as beach, outdoor, food, and ski to help select a destination based on a specific area of interest.
Travelers looking to save even more can utilize Delta’s calendar view which displays a variety of flights and offerings in a grid format to find the lowest price. For those who are low on miles, there are a variety of ways to earn SkyMiles besides flying, including linking your Starbucks Rewards account, or making purchases through its shopping portal.
