Low-cost Spirit Airlines has a frenzy of fall fare deals with its latest sale, with one-way fares starting at just $40.
“We just took the decision-making out of traveling,” the airline wrote about the promotion on its website. “You’re welcome. 80+ destinations, 80+ reasons to travel, and one easy way to save.”
This sale, which ends tomorrow, August 22, at 11:59 p.m. ET, offers discounted flights on Spirit’s website with no promo code required. These discounted fares are available between Sep. 4 and Nov. 20, subject to availability, though Friday and Sunday travel are specifically excluded.
Tickets must be purchased at least seven days in advance to unlock the discounted rates. Travel + Leisure found a ton of $40 one-way tickets bookable on Spirit’s nonstop routes over the next few months:
- Atlanta (ATL) to Philadelphia (PHL), Tampa (TPA), and Dallas (DFW)
- Boston (BOS) to Charleston (CHS), Detroit (DTW), and Nashville (BNA)
- Burbank (BUR) to Las Vegas (LAS) and Oakland (OAK)
- Charlotte (CLT) to Newark (EWR), New York (LGA), and Orlando (MCO)
- Fort Lauderdale (FLL) to San Antonio (SAT), Raleigh-Durham (RDU), and Pensacola (PNS)
- Las Vegas (LAS) to Portland (PDX), Phoenix (PHX), and San Diego (SAN)
Flying with budget carriers, such as Spirit Airlines, is going to look a bit different in the future as they try to generate more revenue beyond ticket sales. That said, these limited-time promotional flights are part of Spirit’s recently introduced “Go” ticketing option, which only includes a free personal item.
However, travelers can upgrade to Spirit’s bundled fare classes to get extra perks included, like carry-on bags, seat selections, and even Wi-Fi. Regardless of the fare class chosen, Spirit has also introduced the ability to change or cancel flights without penalties. Previously, modifying a Spirit flight could result in fees exceeding $100—often more than the original ticket price.
