Aaron Rodgers was recently seen working out in the OTAs and the video had everyone scratching their heads. The 4x MVP was throwing the ball around when he suddenly stopped because of discomfort in his feet. Fans speculated that he broke another tendon, and the New York Jets are out of yet another competition.
Rodgers’ limping on the field garnered a lot of attention throughout the league. Even Pat McAfee jokingly said that this was the “effects from COVID toe.” Rodgers suffered an Achilles injury in his left foot and while training, he was limping on his right. The fans speculated it to be a normal blister and nothing more.
Taking to the ‘blister’ narrative, Shannon Sharpe and Chad Johnson discussed Rodgers getting blisters and gave some pointers on how he can avoid it from happening again. Suffice it to say that Sharpe and Johnson have a lot of football experience and this problem is nothing new to them.

Per Unc, Rodgers should have taped his ankles before starting the practice. But a lot of it also comes down to what kind of shoes an athlete is wearing. If the shoes are new, they will leave blisters on the foot for sure. Shannon Sharpe revealed what he used to do when he faced those problems.
“I wore the same pair of shoes for training camp, same pair of shoes. But once the season starts, I would, you know, I would break out a new pair of shoes on Friday, get my feet used to them. I would wear those shoes in the game, wear the game shoes in practice, and then start that, you know, all over again. But I would never, ever think about going out Sunday in a brand-new pair of shoes.” said Shannon Sharpe.
While the Jets, the fans, and every analyst are hoping that Rodgers bounces back this season, renowned sports physician Jesse Morse got some backlash on X (formerly Twitter). After the backlash, Morse deleted his post and apologized. But Pat McAfee had a unique take on Rodgers’ situation.
Aaron Rodgers limping sparks a wild debate on the internet
Pat McAfee had an ESPN veteran Mike Greenberg on his show and discussed Aaron Rodgers’ blistered foot. While there is no cause for alarm, the former Colts kicker joked about Rodgers getting the after-effects of COVID in the form of rashes or blisters. “It was blister prevention and potential lingering effects from COVID toe, do not know if this is lingering effects; that is from an anonymous source,” said McAfee of the Super Bowl winner’s plight.

However, McAfee clarified that this came from an anonymous source, the legitimacy of which can’t be verified. But later, Greenberg confirmed that there’s nothing wrong with Rodgers and they are indeed gearing up and ready for Monday Night Football game against the San Francisco 49ers at the Levi’s Stadium.

“We’re as hopeful as we’ve ever been in a very very long time. Not since 1999 have I been as hopeful,” said Greenberg and added, “This team frankly is better than it was a year ago and we even are built to survive a normal quarterback injury.” Greenberg later clarified that the Jets also have a backup quarterback in case Aaron Rodgers suffers a not-so-serious injury.
