This homemade Sheet Pan Pizzais easy to make for family pizza night! It’s assembled and baked on a baking sheet and topped with gooey cheese and simple toppings you can easily customize to your liking.
I’m all for making pizza night easier,so when I’m not making my skillet pizza,I’m putting this easy Sheet Pan Pizza together!
Making homemade pizza on a sheet pan solves two problems:(1) there’s enough for the whole family and (2) you avoid the headache of personalizing and baking individual pizzas. Family pizza night has never been so simple.
I topped this baking tray pizza with gooey mozzarella cheese, juicy cherry tomatoes, and fresh basil, but the options are seriously endless. Add some meat if you’d like, swap the veggies for your favorites,or even use a gluten-free crust! You’ll never look at pizza night the same after trying this recipe.
Recipe features
- Besides my skillet pizzaand pizza toastrecipes, making pizza on a sheet pan is one of the easiest ways of making homemade pizza!
- There’s enough for the whole family or party here (you can easily double the recipe, too). Just bake, slice, and serve with plenty of dipping sauces, like my healthy cottage cheese dip.
- Have a little fun by customizing the toppings, swapping the store-bought crust for homemade,or pairing each slice with your favorite sides.
Ingredients
Pizza dough–Stick with a ball of fresh or frozen store-bought pizza dough to keep this recipe quick and easy. Regular, whole wheat, and gluten-free dough all work well, while my homemade cauliflower crustis best if you’re low-carb. If the dough is frozen, place it in the fridge overnight to thaw.
Pizza sauce–Store-bought sauce,whether it’s regular or sugar-free,works just fine.
Cheese–Use freshly grated mozzarella cheese and grated parmesan cheese for the gooiest topping.
Toppings–Cherry tomatoes, fresh basil, dry seasonings, and whatever else you like. Check out the topping ideas below.
Instructions
Step 1:Prep.Take the pizza dough out of the fridge and set it on the counter to come down to room temperature. Preheat the oven and lightly brush the sheet pan with some oil.
Step 2:Roll the dough.Roll out the pizza dough into a 9×13” rectangle. Transfer it to the baking sheet and roll the border up slightly to make the crust.
Step 3:Assemble.Brush the dough with the remaining oil and spread the pizza sauce on top. Sprinkle the Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, mozzarella cheese, parmesan cheese, and cherry tomatoes evenly on top.
Step 4:Bake.Bake the pizza until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted. Top the finished pizza with fresh basil and extra grated cheese, then slice and enjoy!
Tips and FAQs
- I assembled and baked the pizza on a 9×13” quarter sheet panbut a 13×18” half sheet pan also works well (the crust will be a bit thinner).
- Always grate the mozzarella and parmesan cheese yourselffor maximum meltability. The pre-shredded stuff is convenient but doesn’t get as gooey on the pizza.
- For extra protection against sticking, lightly “dust” the greased pan with cornmeal.
- The way the toppings are layered on the pizza is up to you;add the cheese first and top it with the seasonings and veggies,or cover the toppings with a layer of cheese.
Tip
Don’t skip the oil. It not only prevents the dough from sticking to the baking pan,but also encourages the crust to become golden, crunchy, and tasty.

You need 1 pound of pizza dough to bake the pizza in a quarter sheet pan or half sheet pan. For a thicker crust on the half sheet pan pizza, use an extra ½ pound of dough.
Storage
Refrigerator:Store the leftover pizza slices in a sealed container in the fridge for 2 to 3 days.
Reheating:Reheat the pizza slices in a 350ºF oven or an air fryer until the cheese is melted and the crust is crispy again.
