Saving on a fall getaway just got easier with this new sale from Southwest Airlines.
“October travel included,” the carrier wrote about the promotion on its website. “Sale-a-brate new sights! One-way as low as $39.”
By tomorrow, August 28, at 11:59 p.m. PT, travelers can find discounted flight deals for select destinations. The airline’s flights within the U.S. are valid for travel dates of September 17 to December 18, while inter-island Hawaii tickets can be booked for travel between September 17 and February 10, 2025.
Tickets must be purchased at least 21 days in advance to take advantage of the latest Southwest sale. However, there are a few route exceptions and blackout dates to note:
- Continental U.S. travel blacked out from November 26 to 27
- Inter-island travel blacked out from December 18 to January 7
- Orange County flights and travel to/from the continental U.S. to Hawaii, Puerto Rico, or international destinations excluded
No promo code is required to find these deals, and many of these nonstop flights are also discounted when redeeming with Southwest Rapid Rewards points. Travel + Leisure noted these promotional one-way fares for $39 or 1,844 points:
- Atlanta (ATL) to/from Columbus (CMH)
- Austin (AUS) to/from Dallas (DAL)
- Boston (BOS) to/from Baltimore (BWI) $39
- Chicago (MDW) to/from Detroit (DTW) and Grand Rapids (GRR)
- Denver (DEN) to/from Montrose-Telluride (MTJ)
- Las Vegas (LAS) to/from Long Beach (LGB) and Los Angeles (LAX)
- Los Angeles (LAX) to/from Phoenix (PHX) and San Francisco (SFO)
Travelers can find even more sale fares through the airline’s convenient Low Fare Calendar tool, and compare its fares to other carriers on Google Flights to ensure they’re getting the best price.
The sale comes as the airline expanded its flight schedule through April 7, 2025, with several red-eye flights on the docket. In the new year, Southwest plans to roll out assigned seating and introduce extra legroom seats—a first for the carrier in over 50 years.
