She’s creamy, she’s spicy, she’s my green feta sauce (or dip!) that just so happens to be the perfect way to use up fresh summer herbs.
If you’ve done some exploring on my site, you’ll notice that I have quite a few dips and sauces that blend up fresh ingredients with savory bases like Greek yogurt, feta, and even cottage cheese. These recipes are such a great way to make savory snacks and sauces from scratch to pair with your fav proteins, and even with crackers and veggies!
I’m all about versatility here, so I’d suggest blending up a couple of batches of this green feta dip so that you can dip, drizzle, spread, and serve it with anything you can think of.
Ingredients in this spicy green feta sauce
This beautiful jalapeño feta sauce is made with simple, super fresh ingredients (that you might already have in your garden!) Here’s what you’ll need to make it:
- Greek yogurt: I suggest using whole milk or 2% plain Greek yogurt to keep the sauce nice and creamy.
- Feta: you’ll LOVE the salty, savory flavor that the sauce gets from crumbled feta.
- Produce: we’re blending this sauce up with fresh jalapeño, cilantro, and parsley. You’ll also need a little lemon juice for brightness.
- Garlic: just one clove of garlic adds an extra savory element.
- Salt: add salt to taste to bring all of the flavors together.
Can I make it dairy-free?
You can use dairy-free yogurt in this recipe, but please note that I haven’t tested this green feta sauce with dairy-free feta crumbles. Let me know in the comments if you try this recipe with dairy-free swaps, or feel free to try my vegan Jalapeño Cashew Cream Sauce.
How spicy is it?
The spice level in this sauce really depends on how spicy your jalapeño is. If you’re sensitive to spice, I recommend removing the seeds from the jalapeño before blending it into the sauce!
Spicy green feta sauce in 2 simple steps
- Blend it up. Add all of the ingredients to a high-powered blender or food processor and blend until the sauce is nice and smooth — scraping the sides as needed.
- Garnish & serve. If you’re serving this as a dip, I recommend adding it to a shallow bowl and drizzling it with a little olive oil, plus any fresh herbs you have on hand. See below for delicious ways to enjoy it!
Make it ahead of time (or serve a crowd)
Sure! Simply store this sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator and give it a good mix before serving. This dip makes about 4-6 servings, so if you’re feeding more people I’d suggest doubling the recipe!
Delicious ways to serve it
The options are truly endless when it comes to serving up this fresh, spicy green feta sauce. Here’s what I can recommend:
- Dip it: as I mentioned above, add the dip to a shallow bowl and add some pretty garnishes. Then serve it with vegetables like carrots, celery, radishes, and cucumber, or go extra savory with pita chips, crackers, or pretzels.
- Spread it: on sandwiches, wraps, or burgers in place of a boring Kraft single cheese slice.
- Drizzle it: on your favorite grilled or baked proteins (like this chicken!), pasta, veggie-packed grain bowls, or yummy tacos.
How to store green feta sauce
Store any leftover spicy green feta dip in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. Remember to mix it up a bit before enjoying it from the fridge.
