Holiday flight prices are no joke — and when you’re on a student budget, fares can feel even more steep.
But thankfully, and perhaps in the name of the holiday spirit, Amazon is teaming up with StudentUniverse, an online travel agency that offers discounted travel for students and people under 30, once again this year to bring a limited number of affordable flights to the students.
The partnership comes as StudentUniverse has found that 66 percent of Gen Z anticipated incurring debt during the holiday season, with one-third allocating their holiday spending to travel.
“At StudentUniverse, our mission is to make travel more accessible and affordable for young people,” Mirza Smajic, Vice President of Global Supply and Brand Partnerships at StudentUniverse shared with Travel + Leisure in a statement. “Our ongoing partnership with Amazon Young Adults has allowed us to support thousands of young travelers in securing budget-friendly flights and accommodations worldwide. Now in its second year, this campaign is a heartfelt way to bring joy during the holiday season by helping young people across the country travel home to reconnect with loved ones.”
To qualify, students will need a Young Adult account on Prime or can sign up for an account at amazon.com/25flights. Young Adult accounts cost $69 a year or nearly $8 a month.
The sale kicks off Monday at 10 a.m. PT and applies to flights within the United States with travel taking place between the sale date and Jan. 14, 2024.
A total of 5,000 flights for $25 will be available during the promotion — with 1,000 tickets dropping each day from the 9th through the 13th.
Time to mark your calendars…and your alarm.
