If you do not know, buffalo wing sauce is a cayenne pepper-based hot sauce with melted butter and vinegar and ranch is a salad dressing made from buttermilk, mayonnaise, garlic, and herbs like dill and chives. Sometimes, it also consists of mustard.

  • Rubber Spatula: Use it to mix the ingredients and scrape down the sides of the mixing bowl without making any mess.
  • Small storage containers: Great for storing your sauce for later use.

Ingredients Needed:

  • Yogurt: Opt for plain, unsweetened yogurt. Using our homemade recipe, you can also make yogurt in an instant pot at home.
  • Sour Cream: Choose full-fat sour cream for richness and texture. It is low in carbs and adds a tangy flavor to the dressing.
  • Mayonnaise: Look for a sugar-free mayonnaise or make your own using keto-friendly ingredients like avocado oil, egg yolks, and mustard.
  • Hot Sauce: Use your favorite hot sauce or buffalo sauce, making sure it is free from added sugars. Frank’s red hot sauce is recommended.
  • Chives: Fresh chives add a mild onion flavor and vibrant green color to the dressing.
  • Parsley: Chopped parsley adds brightness and freshness to the ranch sauce.
  • Dill: Dill adds a subtle hint of freshness and herbal flavor and pairs well with the other ingredients.

First Step: Prepare All Ingredients

Gather all the ingredients first and place each in a small container, including the liquid ingredients.

In this recipe, I use yogurt, sour cream, and mayo for a good balance, together with hot sauce.

For the best flavor, all the dry seasonings and ingredients should be fresh, especially the herbs. I am using homemade onion powder from dehydrated onions and granulated garlic I got from drying garlic.

Second Step: Wet Ingredients

Once you have prepared all the ingredients, start by adding the yogurt, mayonnaise, sour cream, and hot sauce first. If you are making a large batch, use a large mixing bowl to fit all the ingredients.

Third Step: Dry Ingredients and Herbs

The next step is to add the dry ingredients. Add the onion powder and granulated garlic, followed by the three herbs: parsley, dill, and chives.

Once all the ingredients are added, you are free to add any more seasoning if you like, such as a bit of salt and pepper, but in my case, I am only using what is mentioned.

Fourth Step: Mix and Combine

Prepare your spatula and mixing bowl and start mixing the ingredients until thoroughly combined. Scrape from the bottom of the bowl to prevent any mess when combining all of them.

After mixing, you can immediately use it as a dip since fresh is always the best. You can store the rest in a glass container for later use.
