Rewind to Monday: 9 miles in the morning with 4 @ 6:49 pace and then the normal
The 3.5 mile tempo in 90° later on in the afternoon was definitely out of my comfort zone… We are in PEAK WEEK!
Which means I need to get back to my ice bath habits. Ice is magic in my opinion.
And Tuesday was 8 miles @ 8:21 pace! My ponytail got some height.
I had my hair colored, which was very much needed.
And so was getting my legs worked on at Athlecare. I’m sure I’ve said this 1,000,000 times but I truly have never felt so ready to taper. This training cycle has been harder for me than any in the past…
Time for the tangents!
*I am constantly learning from Knox and Brooke the cool vocab words, and according to them, “I am going to cook the St. George Marathon” should be my current mantra leading up to the race.
*Andrew signed up for a 43 mile mountain biking race!
*Have I told you yet how happy I am that we have a Cheesecake Factory??
*I’m embarrassed to admit how long Beck and I looked at pictures of Bulgaria (where my niece is going in January)… We have to go!
*It feels like everyone is talking about the Mormon Wives show on Hulu right now… It’s definitely not my experience here in Utah or in this culture, but to each their own!
*This study was an interesting one to read about… we have to make sure we are wearing bras that fit us properly!
*It’s finally that time for my favorite fall recipe;). Roasted peanuts + candy corn will change your life. 3:1 peanuts:candy corn is the perfect ratio and you won’t believe how good this combo is.
My other favorite meal this time of year besides candy corn (why don’t I use them for fuel during my run?) is soup and here are my favorite soup recipes:
*Taco Soup (my mom’s recipe is my favorite)
*Chicken Cream Cheese Chili!! We just add an extra can or two of tomato soup to it)
*Potato and Onion Chowder from Sarah Makes It
*Creamy Roasted Cauliflower Chowder. It is not possible for me to ever get sick of this recipe.
*Lasagna is my favorite food so clearly this lasagna soup is one of my favorites!
*The copycat recipe in this post of Olive Garden’s Zuppa Toscana soup. I might have to make this tonight because it is so good.
*This Chicken Tortilla Soup is something we make all winter long. It is super simple and the kids love it too!
*Hearty Minestrone with Spicy Sausage and Beans from the Run Fast, Eat Slow cookbook.
*Mindy’s Tomato Soup Recipe. Absolute perfection with a grilled cheese sandwich.
*Chicken Noodle Soup… The homemade noodles are so good and please try putting it all on top of a scoop of mashed potatoes, it’s amazing.

What’s next on your travel list (in the near or far future)?
Let’s make this a safe space for people to share their feelings on candy corn without judgment.
-I love it an extreme amount when put together with peanuts, and find it pretty okay on it’s own.
