Hello! How is your Tuesday going so far? I had one last run in St. George yesterday, and now we are back home!
Yesterday’s run included stops at gas stations to refill my bottle with ICE. I am really going to need St. George to cool down before the race in 33 days. If anyone has a way to make that happen, please let me know. Maybe I will be wearing the cooling headbands that the Olympians were wearing in the Paris Marathon….
Nine miles total with 4 miles @ aet (6:44 average). I didn’t realize until I finished that I was supposed to do 5 miles @ aet and my ‘Type A follow every detail my coach gives me’ self was not happy with that;). I really tried to get in more ups and downs than normal after experiencing the St. George course a few days before… No matter how many times I run that marathon, I always forget there isn’t a flat mile until mile 24. You are either going up or very down the entire way.
This week, we are switching out doubles for two bike sessions of 45 minutes. I got back from doing this and told Andrew we are going to sign up for a bike race together (a road biking race… I’m still scarred emotionally from going over my mountain bike handlebars).
We then went for donuts and I failed to remember Beck’s shoes.
Skye found her dream donut.
We then went to Grandpa’s Pond for a few hours with cousins. My kids were upset we weren’t going to spend ten hours there because it was that much fun.
Now for just a few tangents:
*Brooke doesn’t have a locker in middle school, and this feels strange to me. They do everything on their laptops so they don’t need lockers for textbooks. I have so many memories of decorating my locker and hanging at them that I feel like she is getting robbed from this pivotal 12-year-old experience;)
*For St. George, I get to run in their elite corral, and they sent over some questions. Umm, yes, I would be happy to go to Japan, but I’m going to have to run about 17 minutes faster than my goal marathon time to do so. 😉 The marathon winners (and winners of the masters category) go to Japan to race a half-marathon there! Sweet prize, right?!
*Opposites attract. Notice anything strange about Andrew’s Strava?
*It is my tradition that after every run in St. George during the months of April-October, I must end on the sidewalk.
*My cousins had bowls upon bowls of fruit and fruit dip for my kids on Sunday. It was beautiful.

Did you see what was absolutely very wrong with Andrew’s Strava?
Did you have a locker? Was it a big deal for you to decorate it?
Give me a tangent!
Mountain biking your thing or pass?
-I really want to make it my thing but I am SO afraid going downhill.
