Its bright green color is reminiscent of the Grinch’s unique hue, making it an ideal choice for holiday-themed parties and gatherings.

Why You Will Like This Recipe

Kids and adults of all ages will definitely approve. Sprite and Green Berry Rush Hawaiian punch will bring back some of your childhood memories. You can spike it up for the adults to add some vodka or Midori Melon liquor to it.

Some recipes for the Grinch Punch call for lime sherbet. This is completely OPTIONAL and totally up to you if would like to add it. If you are making the recipe for a crowd add the largest size container of lime sherbet they have at the store. I can’t remember the container size off the top of my head. The recipe below is made for a crowd and can easily be made for a smaller party.

What do I need to make Grinch Punch?

  • Lime Sherbet: This is the star ingredient that gives Grinch Punch its signature color and creamy texture. It’s refreshingly tangy and adds a delightful twist to the drink.
  • Pineapple juice – For a tropical undertone, pineapple juice blends seamlessly with the other ingredients, enhancing the overall flavor profile.
  • Green Berry Rush Hawaiian Punch – I’m not sure if Green Hawaiian punch is a seasonal flavor not? That is typically an ingredient or product I don’t normally buy. I had to do a little searching before actually finding that color.
  • Liter of Sprite or 7 up – A fizzy component that complements the sherbet perfectly, adding a bubbly zest to the punch.
  • Green Food Coloring – To give the punch an extra pop of green, a few drops of food coloring can be added, although the natural color from the sherbet often suffices.
  • See the recipe card below for a full list of ingredients and measurements.

How to make the Grinch Punch

  1. Prepare the Punch Bowl: Start by scooping generous amounts of lime sherbet into a large punch bowl. The quantity can be adjusted based on the number of guests or the size of the gathering.
  2. Add the Liquid Ingredients: Pour lemon-lime soda over the sherbet, followed by the pineapple juice. The carbonation from the soda will create a frothy, inviting appearance.
  3. Mix Gently: Use a ladle to mix the ingredients slowly. This ensures the flavors meld together without losing too much fizz.
  4. Add Food Coloring (Optional): If you desire a more vibrant green, add a few drops of green food coloring and stir gently.
  5. Garnish and Serve: Rim the glasses with red sugar crystals or drop a cherry into each glass for a festive flair. Serve immediately, and watch as your guests’ faces light up with holiday cheer.

Bartending Tips for Beginners

  • Always keep 6 basic liquors stocked in your bar. Those are Vodka, Whiskey, Rum, Tequila, Gin, and Brandy.
  • Different types of liqueurs are also great to have for a well stocked bar. Examples of creme based liqueurs are Rumchata, Kauhula,  or Irish Cream
  • Essential mixers to keep on hand would be ginger beer, different flavored juices, or or sodas like Sprite and Club.
  • Simple syrups are just equal parts sugar and water and you can add whatever extract flavoring you want to them.
  • Of course, always keep a variety of different cocktail glasses serving and ice on hand.
