The Potlatch Club Eleuthera Opening

One of Eleuthera’s most legendary hotels, the Potlatch Club, just reopened on a secluded sandy beach after a meticulous multi-year renovation.

The property, which was once a magnet for celebrities such as Paul McCartney (who honeymooned here in 1969) and Greta Garbo, sits on a picture-perfect stretch of coastline on Central Eleuthera and boasts just 11 accommodations nestled on 12 lush acres. A variety of whitewashed suites, cottages, and villas offer amenities such as private terraces, poster beds, coral stone floors, and island-inspired artwork.

Several original buildings, including the clubhouse, were meticulously restored and now feature details such as arches and checkered flooring produced in Nassau over a hundred years ago. The tropical decor is complemented by pops of soft pink and blue and plenty of natural textures and handmade furnishings.

The property’s four-bedroom ocean-view villa, dubbed the Pineapple House, is its most opulent accommodation that pampers travelers to 4,500 square feet of stylish spaces, butler service, a chef kitchen, a private pool, and direct access to the beach via a short pathway that passes among swaying palm trees.

The Potlatch Club’s food and beverage options include its signature restaurant, the Fig Tree, helmed by executive chef Choki Wangmo. The Fig Tree overlooks a pool and offers indoor and outdoor seating, seasonal farm-to-table cuisine, and fresh seafood.

The Sand Bar is the property’s laid-back beach and pool eatery featuring gazebo-inspired architecture, looking out to the hotel’s gorgeous crescent-shaped pool and sundeck.

Guests in need of some R&R can head to the intimate Acqua Spa, which has two treatment rooms or opt for a relaxing massage on the beach or in their suite.

Those seeking more active recreation can enjoy paddleboarding and kayaking on the beach or cruises. The property has also curated three custom itineraries available to its guests focusing on exploring the island’s many beaches, visiting Harbour Island, just off the coast of Eleuthera, or venturing out to remote islands and sandbars, snorkeling, fishing, and swimming with turtles or stingrays.

Nightly rates at the Potlatch Club start from $475-$675, and you can book your stay on thepotlatchclub.com.
