The dust has settled and the results are in. What were the people who read our luxury travel blog checking out the most last year? Well apparently you readers like to stay at fine resorts and explore interesting places. Some of you are looking into buying a second home or a retirement home in Latin America. Every year one thing is clear though: our readers want to drink well and check out the local spirits when they’re on vacation.
Here on this luxury travel blog we write about travel in Latin America, vacation or retirement real estate, plus food, wine, and spirits from the region. We normally see that our readers gravitate to that last category a lot, but sometimes that dovetails with where they’re heading: what to drink in Mexico, Guatemala, Colombia, or Argentina when you visit?
The top overall posts for last year include some perennial favorites that have made the list multiple times now. Always bubbling just under are the swimmable beaches of Los Cabos, luggage reviews like this, and informational posts like the 10 largest airlines in South America.
But here are the top luxury travel and lifestyle blog posts that went up over the past year, a rather varied bunch of topics and interests.
The Most Popular Posts From 12 Months of Visits
Our #10 post of the year by traffic was one that always sees a big spike in interest in January and February: 8 Warm Countries to Escape to in Latin America. These are spots where you’ll never need to pack a coat in your suitcase. You’ve got plenty to choose from.
The #9 one was also a listicle round-up, but for a very different kind of vacation: Take a South America Road Trip: 8 Epic Routes to Explore.
One notch up was a post for wine lovers instead, the ones headed to Argentina: The Best Mendoza Winery Hotels.
The #7 slot went to review article we updated about a beloved liquor brand in Mexico: Don Julio Tequila Review: Reposado and Anejo.
It was a close tequila race in the post popular posts. Next up was another popular premium brand that’s famous for its packaging: Clase Azul Tequila in a Hand-crafted Bottle.
Our #5 most popular article for the year was about a different kind of spirit that’s abundant in this part of the world: The 7 Best Central America Rum Brands.
In the #4 slot was an article for those ready to escape the USA or Canada for green space or an ocean community. Where are the Best Places to Live in Costa Rica?
It was back to tequila for the #3 most popular post of the year: Tres Generaciones Tequila in a Revamped Bottle.
The silver slot for the year was a big surprise for me, the editor, because we don’t write about the flight part of a trip all that much. Maybe we should do more of that because the #2 post for the year was this: Our Copa Airlines Review for Flying to Latin America.
Which post got more traffic than any other last year? One that we revise every year when the prestigious picks from AAA come out: The 5-Diamond Resorts of Mexico.
