They could never but I did + Tangents!

(top, leggings, beanie)

Let’s start with Monday: I wore my hair down purposely for the first time ever on a run. I realized I liked having it down on cold mornings when I would go walk with a beanie on because of how warm and toasty my hair kept my neck. My friends said they could never because it would make their necks scratchy! I did not experience scratchiness, but I’m not sure I could do this for a speed workout, just an easy-paced run with a beanie that keeps it out of my face. Have you ever tried this? If you struggle with a cold neck on the run, try it out;)

Beck went skiing for his first time, and he picked it right up. I’m guessing it’s because he spent two seasons in Andrew’s pack watching us all ski, and so it just came quickly for him! Now, to teach him how to stop. PS: Our tips for skiing with kids are in this post!

My Tuesday workout was the stair climber and lifting/mobility work. The stairclimber put me into the threshold heart rate zone!

Now for some tangents (even though it is Wednesday)!

*Look at this speedster husband and wife… Calli Hauger-Thackery WON Cim and set a new course record with a 2:24:28 and her husband, Nick Hauger, finished with a new PR of 2:11:55.

*When reading about CJ Albertson’s amazing year, I saw the record for running a marathon on a cruise ship–> 3:14ish?! Can you even imagine running a marathon on a cruise ship? The tracks on top are tiny, I would be dizzy and seasick at the same time… there would be no way I could take gels.

*We will forever perceive temperatures differently.

*Our family loves Is It Cake? so very much so some new episodes made our day.

*Skye loves strawberries cooked into her pancakes… have you ever tried this? It’s pretty good!

*In case you were wondering, I am successfully keeping up with my peppermint/chocolate December streak challenge. I am proud, too.

*We need to leave the Christmas train out year-round. This is the same train as when Andrew was a little boy, I wonder if it will make it to the next generation of little boys, too.

*Any guesses how many pictures I have on my phone of Beck standing next to a Cybertruck?

*Grateful for so many run therapists in my life:

*I drink a green smoothie every day loaded with greens and chia seeds and I know this admission will kill my sister, but in order to ski with four kids… one of these has to be ingested.

From Colleen, if anyone can help: “I was just diagnosed with a medial meniscus tear. Wondering if you could ask your readers who have had this diagnosis about how they got back to running? Of course I’m freaking out about this!”

Ever run with your hair down? Could you?

Does anyone reading not need caffeine?

Give me a tangent today!
