It’s time for you to live out all your royal fantasies in Spain.
El Palace Barcelona, a five-star hotel located in the very center of the vibrant Spanish city of the same name, is hosting an all-new, exclusive two-day experience that will have guests traveling south to Jerez de la Frontera to visit Palacio Domecq, an 18th-century family-owned Baroque palace with one of the longest winemaking legacies in Spain.
Palacio Domecq, which dates back to 1778, is a gorgeous Baroque palace that has been the family home of the Domecq family since 1885. Inside, visitors will find towering Italian marble columns, historic paintings, tapestries, and sculptures, and yet somehow, maintains an entirely familiar, cozy atmosphere that’s perfect for a night in. And that’s a good thing, because, for the first time ever, guests will get to stay overnight, thanks to this program.
The two-day experience includes a guided tour of the palace by an actual member of the Domecq family, where they will also enjoy a tapas dinner on their first night, along with a half-hour private flamenco show on site.
On their second night at the house, guests will get to pick a recipe from the palace’s archives to enjoy for dinner, including Jerez-style cream of artichoke soup and Palacio Domecq’s rice with prawns. Of course, there will be a sherry tasting (this is, after all, the best place for it) with the Mora-Figueroa Domecq oenologist.
Guests can also indulge in two typical Andalusian breakfasts, with juice made from their home-grown oranges and mandarins and jam made on-site in the palace’s kitchens, before checking out.
The partnership between the palace and the hotel is a two-way street. Guests at El Palace Barcelona can also enjoy Mora-Figueroa Domecq sherries in both the hotel’s Great Hall and the Rooftop Garden.
The two-night experience begins at €10,000 (about $10,700) for two nights. To make a reservation, you must call +34 935101130 or email reservas@hotelpalacebarcelona.com.
