This busy mum admits she often puts her own needs last (don’t we all!?)

Busy Mum of three admits looking after herself is not always a priority.

Tara, 40, is a busy mum of 3 ranging from 14, 12, and 9, who also works as an aged care nurse and admits she does better at looking after others than she does herself at times.

“I do a lot of caring for others and sometimes not so much myself.”

“I work hard as an aged care nurse, have three children, and a household to run, so a busy, busy life like most of us, and we all tend to put ourselves last.”

Tara has lost over 20kgs and shares that her weight loss success is mainly thanks to the Healthy Mummy Smoothies that she enjoys daily.

Tara’s kicking goals!

I have lost over 20 kgs since 2018 when I started my Healthy Mummy journey and began using the Healthy Mummy Smoothies and took up running for me. That’s now MY TIME! The time I need to look after myself.”

Tara is a big believer of finding something that you really enjoy, and then making sure you dedicate the time you need to look after yourself too.

“I have achieved a lot of goals and personal achievements since I started running.

I have completed a half marathon.

I ran a Parkrun in under 30 minutes.

I am up to 90 Parkruns, just 10 to go till 100 – Yipee!

I love to wear clothes with confidence now, including bright colours, and no more oversized baggy clothes to hide my tummy!

Tara’s Healthy Mummy Journey

In 2018 I started my Healthy Mummy journey I was overweight, not very active, and not doing much with my 3 kids. Now I have lost over 20 kgs, although I then put some back on because as we know, life happens!

I went around Australia for 6 months in a caravan, then COVID-19 hit for 3 years, I moved to a whole new town and started a new job which meant I had to meet new people and found I began to emotionally eat at this stage.

I was originally over 101.5 kgs. I am sitting at 90 kgs now, not where I want to be but I’m there and I’ll continue to try each day to get where I want to be at around 80 kgs, although my dream weight is 70 kgs, it’s not easy but I will try my best and that’s all I can do.

The images above are 5 years apart, I am now five years older. I was 35 years old on the left, now I’m 40, fitter, healthier, and happier.

I am still not at my goal weight, but wow can I see change, especially in my face.

So amazing, most of my weight loss is from the Healthy Mummy Smoothies, I have one nearly every day.

The face edition!

Tara shares the first thing she noticed when losing weight was how much happier and healthier she looked in the face.

In the above picture on the right I was over 101.5 kgs not very healthy, definitely overweight vs today on the left still 90 kgs, but looking at my face I see a happy and healthy Tara.

In the images above on the right was when I first started my Healthy Mummy journey sitting at over 101.5 kgs. I have now lost over 20 kgs using mainly the Healthy Mummy Smoothie products. I noticed that my chubby face was the first to disappear.

Tara’s day on a plate

Breakfast: Most days Tara has a Healthy Mummy Smoothie for breakfast, her favourite smoothie is mixed with frozen banana, peanut butter, and almond milk.

Lunch: Tara loves a good healthy platter which she often whips up for lunch or she will have a good old ham salad roll/wrap and often a yummy sushi or some rice paper rolls.

Dinner: Tara’s favourite Healthy Mummy dinners include dumplings, a Healthy Mummy salad or Zucchini slice.

We love Tara’s snack options. Very healthy and delicious.

Tara’s top tips

Tara admits changes don’t just happen overnight. It takes determination.

It doesn’t happen overnight. It takes time, dedication, and determination – you can do anything you put your mind to ladies!”

I try most days to keep on track, but some days are tougher than others. The Healthy Mummy has taught me it’s a journey that happens gradually not overnight, start your goals slow and build up to it. You got this ladies!

  • Keep exercising.
  • Plan your meals, this saves you from eating badly and making bad food choices.
  • Bulk buy food from the bigger supermarkets that are often cheaper.
