Saving on fall travel just got easier with a new sale from Avelo Airlines.
The carrier’s “Back to School” sale ends tomorrow, August 20, at 11:59 p.m. PT. With the promo code SCHOOL, travelers can enjoy a 30 percent discount on round-trip flights across Avelo’s network between September 4 and November 5, with no blackout dates during this time frame.
This promo code must be entered under the “Have a promo code?” box on Avelo’s website when searching for flights. The 30 percent savings will apply solely to the base fare of a round-trip ticket, which excludes any government taxes and fees.
Travel + Leisure tested the promo code across multiple itineraries:
- Raleigh-Durham (RDU) and Manchester (MHT): $88 ($112 without the promo code)
- Burbank (BUR) and Sonoma County (STS): $74 ($92 without the promo code)
- Baltimore (BWI) and New Haven (HVN): $68 ($82 without the promo code)
- Salem (SLE) and Las Vegas (LAS): $80 ($102 without the promo code)
- Wilmington, Del. (ILG) and Myrtle Beach (MYR): $71 ($87 without the promo code)
Avelo is a smaller airline, so most of its flights don’t operate daily. However, travelers can rely on the airline for its excellent on-time performance and can even make changes to their bookings online at no extra cost.
“As we enter the second half of 2024, Avelo continues to distinguish itself as America’s most reliable airline,” founder and CEO of Avelo, Andrew Levy, said in a recent news release. “Our customers can count on Avelo to get them where they want to go more reliably than any other airline.”
The low-cost airline operates an all-Boeing 737 fleet in a 3-3 configuration. Passengers should be aware that seat selection comes with an additional fee, and the airline offers several rows with extra legroom for an added charge. While one personal item is included in the fare, there are additional costs for carry-on bags and checked luggage.
