HomeRunningThis secret always helps.

This secret always helps.

(shoes, tank, shorts)

Sometimes, you just need a good cry on the run in the pouring rain. Nothing is wrong; I have just been feeling overly emotional. You could look at me funny, and I would break down in tears. I’m blaming it on the start of the school year and feeling all of the conflicting feelings with so many life changes. I came home feeling completely cleansed from this run. Running does so much for me.

A scene from my run-> Can someone help me build one of these for our yard for Andrew’s 37th birthday? Although, maybe that isn’t a good idea. My ONLY goal for 2025 is to not hit our out-of-pocket maximum for insurance like we have in 2023 and 2024…

Time to throw them in the washer after this run in the rain (I let them air dry)!

Brooke’s dad took her to lululemon so don’t mind me coveting my daughter’s wardrobe right about now;)

Spikey (what I called her as a baby because of her hair) is now in middle school.

I ran into Lauren at Athlecare. The heater in the middle at least keeps our hands warm during the ice bath experience. The hardest part about ice baths is my feet. They hurt!

Getting used to just the two of us during the day… He’s thrilled to get to choose ‘pre-school songs’ for the car because the older kids vetoed them during the summer.

I had grand plans to make fresh cookies for the kids to come home to, but I ran out of time and bought Swig S’more ones instead. They’re not their best cookie, but they’re not their worst, TBH.

A few more things before I let you go:

*I’m excited to have these little waffles from TJs before some runs. 30 grams of carbs sounds good to me and they taste so good.

*Anytime I have a big run coming up or just need a boost in my running, I google Deena Kastor on Spotify and listen to any podcast that she is on and it ALWAYS helps.

*Just something I was telling my kids before school but changed a bit to fit more our current stage–> No one really cares about our race times or our houses or what size of clothing we wear or what kind of car we drive… They just care about and will remember how you made them feel. <– When I remember this, it helps me to let go of any pressure I am putting on myself to be a certain way and to realign myself to what really matters: how we make people feel.

And a cute picture of Beck sleeping at back-to-school night…

*I am really enjoying this season of the Bachelorette, I love Jenn!
