10. ATLANTIS THE PALM DUBAI

Atlantis The Palm is situated at the apex of the Palm Island’s outer crescent, surrounded by the beautifully tranquil sea of the Arabian Gulf. The palatial hotel is one of Dubai’s most impressive resorts, part blockbuster luxury hotel (more than 1,500 rooms and suites!), part aquatic wonderland. The resort has some of the most elegant hotel rooms in Dubai, designed to immerse guests in absolute comfort and unparalleled luxury. The hotel’s underwater suites have breathtaking underwater views, including the “ancient” ruins of the mythical lost city of Atlantis and its 65,000 marine inhabitants. Families will love the hotel’s Aquaventure Waterpark, where they can discover an underwater world at The Lost Chambers Aquarium or meet the incredible marine mammals at Dolphin Bay and Sea Lion Point.

From Easter egg hunts, fun-filled brunches, indulgent dinner spreads, and buckets of joy at Aquaventure Waterpark, Atlantis Dubai is offering a lot of Easter-themed activities during the Easter period.

9. TSWALU KALAHARI, SOUTH AFRICA

Easter is so much more than just chocolate eggs – it’s about shared experiences filled with wonder. So why not choose for an African safari as your Easter holiday, blending wildlife, luxury, and unforgettable memories. For wildlife viewing around Easter, the three best countries in Africa are Botswana, South Africa and Zimbabwe. These countries will be at the start of their dry season, there will be plenty of young wildlife about and plenty of food for predators and prey alike. A great option for a family safari holiday around Easter is Tswalu Kalahari, South Africa’s largest private (and also malaria-free private) game reserve. You can choose to stay at either Tswalu Kalahari’s main property, designated “The Motse”; the nearby personal home of the Oppenheimer family, so-called “Tarkuni”; or one of Loapi’s six ultra-luxury tented homes. At all three camps, a private safari vehicle, guide and tracker is guaranteed with each booking.

An Easter safari holiday at Tswalu Kalahari doesn’t come with Easter-themed activities, but who really cares when days are spent tracking black-maned lions, cheetah, black rhino, oryx, wild dogs and elusive, nocturnal creatures, such as pangolin, aardvark and brown hyena

8. DAS CENTRAL SÖLDEN, AUSTRIA

Skiing at Easter? Works perfectly in Austria’s Sölden ski area! Thanks to the high altitude and two glacier ski areas, snow is guaranteed here until spring. The 5-star Das Central Hotel is the height of luxury in Sölden. The property just steps from the resort center and 10 minutes from the lifts. Each of the 121 rooms and suites are unique and exude luxury, yet retain Tyrolean charm. There’s lots to love for foodies too, from the luxury breakfast buffets to the 5-course evening feasts. If you really want to spoil yourself, try the à la carte restaurant Ötztaler Stube which has a Michelin star. Spread across three floors, the hotel’s Venetian-themed features saunas, steam baths and relaxation rooms – plus, an indoor pool with frescoes of gondolas on the walls. In addition, the adults-only rooftop summit with its outdoor infinity pool is the perfect spot to soak up the winter scenery after a day on the slopes.

When choosing for a Easter getaway at Das Central Sölden, you are choosing for sunshine skiing and and a lively après-ski scene instead of egg hunting (as the resort town does not offer any Easter-themed activities).

4. EXPLORA RAPA NUI, EASTER ISLAND, CHILE

According to legend, the Easter Bunny lives on Easter Island, a remote island located in the southeastern Pacific Ocean. In reality, the name Easter Island originated with the European explorer Jacob Roggeveen, who first saw the island on Easter Sunday, 1722. Today, Easter Island is famous for its giant moai statues dotting the grassy flanks of an extinct volcano. The island also features a stunning hotel, Explora Rapa Nui, which is located on a tranquil spot from which the remote island’s mysteries and dramatic isolation are in full view. The hotel’s award-winning architecture blends the island’s unique geography and heritage, with its vibrant present. The 30 rooms are designed to take full advantage of the silence, privacy, and spaciousness of the surrounding landscape, ensuring deep rest after a long day of exploration.

Taking place around the Easter weekend in April, Easter Island Festival welcomes spring with a celebration of art, music and culture. Started in 2010 as a grassroots movement, the event has grown every year in patrons and popularity.

3. AMANOI, VIETNAM

Named for the Sanskrit-derived word for ‘peace’ and noi meaning ‘place’, Amanoi is a tranquil, ultraluxe retreat situated on a gorgeous golden sand beach overlooking spectacular Vinh Hy Bay in Nui Chua National Park, northeast of Ho Chi Minh City. The luxury hotel’s polished, slate pagodas peek out from a lush green landscape; its infinity pool segues into the sea; and its spa rests by a lotus-blossom-dotted lake. Amanoi offers total privacy in beautifully designed accommodations that are located in 31 pavilions, a number with private swimming pools, and five Aman Villas, all positioned on the hillside with impressive views. The off-the-grid property designed by Belgian-born Jean-Michel Gathy positively encourages calm contemplation, whether lounging by the cliffside pool or at the elegant beach club, or surrendering to the tranquillity of the Aman Spa – set by a lotus-filled lake with a floating yoga pavilion.

2. SONEVA FUSHI, MALDIVES

Sunny April skies, soft sandy beaches and tranquil azure waters set the exceptional Easter scene at Soneva Fushi, the first ‘Robinson Crusoe’ style hideaway in the Maldives’ Baa Atoll, a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve. The island – which is 1,400 m (4,600 ft) long and 400 m (1300 ft) wide – ranks among the largest islands in the Maldives. Apart from the crystal clear waters, white beaches and tropical climate, the island’s unusually rich vegetation offers a unique natural experience. Massive, multi-bedroom, fairytale-like luxury villas and private residences are hidden among dense tropical foliage. In keeping with the castaway theme, many are built to resemble tree houses. All open to their own private stretch of sugar white sands, and most boast their own private seawater swimming pools. In summer 2020, Soneva Fushi also unveiled eight fabulous water retreats, which are the largest and most luxurious overwater villas in the world.

A memorable Easter with your family awaits at the resort. Soneva’s signature take on the traditional Easter egg hunt, the Soneva Fushi Aquatic Egg Expedition, promises fun and laughter for all. Other Easter-themed activities include taste discovery challenges, Maldivian-inspired cocktails at sunset, exquisite brunches and eco-friendly arts and crafts.
