This is an Old Portuguese-style bolthole on the banks of the Shiridao Lake, which has been beautifully converted into a lavish boutique home.

Amrapali is an independent-minded abode that values tradition and culture. It invites you to relish a curated experience brimming with innately tranquil and joyful natural surroundings.

The original structure has been preserved wherever possible, with local artisans dedicated to this mission. The hotel embodies nourishment through energy and vitality and invites you to enjoy a stunning waterfront location.

The on-site café serves mouth-watering gourmet desserts from a Le Cordon Bleu certified pastry chef, complemented by delicious Amo tea from tea estates in Assam.

My favorite highlights..

  • I loved exploring the property and admiring the beautiful local artwork, especially the Tanjore painting of Lord Vishnu that greeted me at the mansion’s entrance — it was the perfect welcome!

  • A stand out feature for me was the direct access to Benaulim Beach – This made me feel like I had my own little private paradise just steps away from my room. It was the perfect piece of of serenity that I needed.

This atypical all-white mansion is designed to impress. From a tree-lined cobbled porch to the stately columns and baroque-style wooden mouldings, a feeling of luxury and sophistication is immediately introduced on arrival.

Steeped in history and design, the careful restoration of this luxury Goa hotel has led to the coalescence of old-world charm and contemporary aesthetics.

The property is devoid of insignia, emulating the discrete experience of arriving at a stately home. A communal courtyard is supported by gorgeous arches and pillars, creating a rich interplay of light and air to welcome you to the nine surrounding suites.

Each accommodation boasts high-vaulted ceilings and is surrounded by water bodies to exude calmness and tranquillity. All open onto private pools and feature bespoke artwork and heirlooms of the past to beautifully contrast the modern décor.

My highlights…

  • I was absolutely blown away by the Goan Prawn Balchão they served up at the on-site restaurant. The succulent prawns in the tangy, spicy tamarind sauce had my taste buds tingling – I highly recommend you try it too.

My favorite highlights…

  • Their rooftop WET pool was absolute bliss – I had the most relaxing time sipping on a W Goa Mojito whilst soaking up the sun on their fabulous cabanas. The added bonus was that they also provided me with poolside service. Who wouldn’t want to feel like royalty?

  • Watching the sun dip below the horizon from the infinity pool was the ultimate way to wrap up my days. I could see as far as Sinquerim Beach, Fort Aguada, and Dona Paula – My favourite part was staying longer once the sky had gone dark to stargaze,

  • I indulged in their mouthwatering zucchini spaghetti with cashew cream, and wow, was it packed with flavor! The best part? All the fresh ingredients were straight from their own garden – It was the farm-to-table experience I never knew I needed.

  • Their infinity pool (which sat on an elevated terrace) was the serene retreat my body craved after a full day of exploring – I loved being able to relax whilst admiring Arambol hills and its lush emerald green scenery.
