Monday’s 128th running of the Boston Marathon saw fast times and new records for elites and amateurs alike. Ethiopia’s Sisay Lemma dominated with a wire-to-wire win, while Hellen Obiri won the women’s race for the second year in a row. As always, many Canadians travelled to Boston to prove their mettle on the famously hilly course; here are a few who had a good day on the course.
Former Boston Marathon champion and world record holder Josh Cassidy finished fifth in the men’s wheelchair division, with a time of 1:26:15.
Canada’s Michelle Krezonoski of Toronto was the fastest Canadian woman in the elite field, finishing 23rd, in 2:38:23.
Tyler Hamilton of Toronto was the top Canadian men’s finisher on Monday, finishing 39th overall in 2:24:04.
