Tuesday Tangents + We Need an Outsider.

Knox said he was up to join me!

It’s quite amazing how fresh my legs are feeling these days with the drop in mileage and all of the ice baths I’ve been doing. I needed an outsider to tell me to back off on my mileage and I am enjoying it so much. In my brain, I kept thinking more is more, and it’s time to build a solid base for St. George… nope. The endurance is there, I need to back off in order to get faster. Long story short, if you are an obsessed routine person like me… try shaking something up with your training (let me be the outsider to tell you this).

Run views for 8 miles 8:19 pace:

Beck and Skye thought we were nuts because it hadn’t quite warmed up yet…

This 10-minute salmon bowl was heavenly, and I will be making it again.

And Brooke came home. That first hug.

(this Walmart top and bottom is what I live in indoors)!

Now for the tangents!

*I love it when I am working and Knox grabs his book and comes to read on the chair next to me. I hope he always does this. I get questions about being a stepparent and for tips, but truly, Knox has spoiled me and makes it so beyond easy. I just get to hang out with a best friend all day.

*I was stung by a bee and Beck told me, ‘at least you didn’t get eaten by a horse.’ Such an optimist.

*Our cherry tree is delivering the best cherries to us now… Skye is busy picking them and selling them to people that drive by.

*I found out my nephew did his marathon old school with this simple stop watch. I am not brave enough to do such a thing. I WANT EACH MILE SPLIT.

*My mom just told me about this story of a 23-year-old who had a heart attack at the same marathon that my niece and nephew just completed… He didn’t have a heartbeat for 11 minutes at the finish line. A heart surgeon was at the finish line and jumped over the barricades to start chest compressions along with a nurse from the race until the ambulance arrived. He survived without any brain damage!

*This was the first time Brooke wore her favorite pair of shoes since her foot started hurting because they hurt too bad for a while = progress!

Has an outsider helped you with your running? What have they told you that you need to change?

-Give me high mileage all day long, but I want some pretty massive PRs this year, and shaking things up to less mileage and working towards getting my short speed going is what is going to get me there!

Favorite ways to prepare salmon?

-This was my first time cooking it in the air-fryer and it was amazing.

Tell me a tangent!
