Ever since Turner Bikes went all Ti, we’ve seen several exciting new titanium bikes spring from the mind of Dave Turner. This year is no different as the brand adds two completely new models plus a number of updates and even Ti components across the line.
Venn
The Venn is Turner’s new do-everything/bikepacking bike, and the 29 x 3.0″ tire clearance certainly fits the bill. The frame is equipped with slider dropouts with a UDH and even belt drive compatibility. Designed around a 120-130mm travel fork, the frame has a 2,220g claimed weight and will sell for $2,600 for the frame.
The frame will have the option of a titanium bike packing fork, which is currently in the works. If you look closely, the fork on the Venn is slightly different than the one above, and the design isn’t finalized yet.
Gila SS
For the single-speed purists out there, the Gila is single-speed optimized with a slider dropout offering 25mm of adjustment. However, there is a UDH in case you want to throw some gears on down the road. The frame is belt drive compatible and designed around a 120-130mm travel fork. The claimed frame weight is 2,150g (medium), and will sell for $2,600 for the frame only.
Cyclosys
On the gravel side, the Cyclosys is being updated with new 3D-printed hollow Ti dropouts while adding a SRAM UDH. That makes it compatible with 1x, 2x, or any wireless drivetrain option. Tire clearance is now 700c x 50mm, or 650b x 54mm, and the frame is dropper-compatible. Claimed weight is 1850g for a medium frame, and the frame fork and headset will sell for $2,800.
DeWulf Cruiser
No longer a prototype, the DeWulf retro-styled MTB is now in production with huge 29 x 2.8″ or 27.5 x 2.8″ tire clearance. The Slider dropout includes a UDH and is belt drive compatible. The frame is meant for 120-130mm travel forks with a 2,300g claimed weight for a medium and a $3,200 price for the frame only.
Other Frame Updates
Turner was also showing off some of the new 3D printed frame details plus a new titanium seat post design. Those 3D printed details have allowed the frames to offer more tire clearance with increased stiffness, and even allow for better internal routing thanks to hidden ‘bowls’ on the other side of the ports that help guide cables through the openings. Impressively, the ports are not drilled into the frame, they’re actually welded into place, with finish work that makes the welding nearly invisible.
