This year’s vegan gift guide is kinda’ fun! I’m sharing my favorite gift ideas with a steal and a splurge in each category.
The vegan splurges won’t be Goop-level splurge. No, I think most of my splurges land in that gift guide’s ‘steals’.
I picked some categories that I love to receive as vegan gifts and give as vegan gifts. If you have other ideas, I’d love to hear them in the comments. 🙌
Let’s get started with this vegan gift guide splurges & steals!
Vegan Skincare & Makeup
Splurge
PurityWoods: A reader sent me a link to Purity Woods, and I was curious. This company is endorsed by Dr. Joel Fuhrman. That’s a big deal to us in the plant-based world. And, it has exceptional reviews.
As some of you know, I’ve been using OCosmedics for a few years and it’s been great for my skin. But I’m very interested in this new skincare because of this one unique ingredient: maple leaf extract. In fact, when I learned about maple leaf extract a couple of years ago, I reached out to OCosmedics about it, to see if they had plans to integrate it into their skincare. Perhaps they will have something down the road, right now they don’t.
Maple leaf extract is dubbed the plant-based botox, and might be the game-changer for Purity Woods. I’m always open and curious about new developments, and will be experimenting with Purity Woods. As I’m new to the line myself, I don’t have personal results to share – yet! But reviews online are remarkable. So remarkable that I reached out to Purity Woods about this blog post and they are offering you 10% off any order! 🌟 Just link through and it will be applied. Exciting! (And while I have it listed as a “splurge” it’s not nearly as expensive as many high-end brands, especially with 10% off)
Steal
e.l.f. I’m not super make-up savvy. I use a few things: tinted moisturizer, concealer, blush, mascara. It’s what I know, I keep it simple. I have loved e.l.f. for a long time. On top of being vegan, they have the best mascara. Also, I am currently IN LOVE with this holy hydration MAKEUP MELTING cleanser. I’ve been using it for the past month, it easily removes mascara and other makeup and leaves my skin feeling oh-so-hydrated. A steal at about $11. The entire holy hydration line is worth trying.
For the Vegan Cook
Splurges
Vitamix: It’s the kitchen essential every cook wants – home cook or professional. A high-speed blender will serve you for years and years, and is especially useful for whole foods plant-based cooking. Get yours in the US here and in Canada here. (hot tip: pick up a refurb unit, they are a steal!)
Ninja CREAMi: Wow, my Vanilla Bean Ice Cream recipe hit hard! I don’t know if it’s because the recipe is really good (I think it is imho) or because it’s using the Ninja CREAMi. Either way, wouldn’t it be fun to make an egg-nog version of this ice cream over the holidays? (hint: just add some nutmeg)… Yes! So much fun. Pick up your Ninja CREAMi here.
Steals
Elihome Cutting Boards & Spatulas: These are my favorite cutting boards – and favorite spatulas! The spatulas are one-piece construction, and the cutting boards are non-slip and don’t hold odors. Love ’em!
Vegan Cookbooks! You may have all of my cookbooks, so maybe browse the bountiful catalog of vegan cookbooks now available. To think when I started my cookbook journey almost 25 years ago, there was ONE vegan cookbook on the shelves. Yes, things have changed. So go get excited about a new title!
Vegan Chocolate & Food Gifts
Splurges
Nibble Truffles: These are my personal treat for the holidays. Since discovering them a couple of years ago I am HOOKED! These truffles are rich and dreamy, but not sickly. Even though I make (and gift) chocolate bark every year, there’s something special about chocolate truffles. And, Nibble makes the best I have EVER tasted. They are a reasonable price, and you can use this Nibble Chocolate Coupon Code DREENABURTON at checkout for 10% off your order (and with that discount, they really aren’t too much of a splurge)!
Splurges
Wilderness Poets: How I love these products! From vanilla bean powder to Miso Nooch to their Spin Nut Milk Concentrates (link to watch my vid) and DragonFruit Powder. All exceptional quality, you will love anything you try from Wilderness Poets. Link through and use Wilderness Poets Coupon Code DREENA10 for 10% off at checkout (and then it’s not such a splurge) 🤣
Steals
Cadbury’s Plant Bar: I wasn’t expecting this bar to be made with sustainably sourced cocoa. Of course it won’t have the exquisite flavor and quality you would find with Nibble chocolate (above), but for sure a budget-friendly stocking stuffer.
Soom Chocolate Tahini: Hmmm, I may be including this one as a reminder to myself to buy more. I loooove this stuff. See my video. On amazon, a 2-pack with 20% off is a steal!
Fitness & Clothing Gifts
Splurges
K, my lulu confession: I’m obsessed. I shop there too much, lol. But I love my lulu clothes, and it lasts for years and years. I have a raincoat that is in top shape after 10 years! Now, not all of their items are vegan, but many are so part of this vegan gift guide splurges and steals. Here are a few current faves:
Wundermost ultra-soft nulu turtleneck: These are ULTRA soft. I love this fabric, and they have other items besides the turtleneck. But shouldn’t a turtleneck be ultra-soft against your neck? I think so. Tip: These are a tighter weave, consider sizing up. I ordered a size small and now opting for a medium.
Lululemon align joggers: I feel these suit just about every body – more than standard leggings. The design is flattering and the material is so comfortable. Great for fitness, yoga, fascia flo, or just casual wear – you can’t go wrong.
Steals
Lululemon “we made too much“. Yep, this is in steals! Did you know that Lulu has a huge Black Friday sale every year? Don’t miss it, link over during Thanksgiving weekend and score some deals, like this super cute beanie (I would totally wear this, in fact, I might pick one up)!
Hold Tight Crewneck Tank: This is my all-time favorite tank top. I love the neckline, the longer waist, the material, and the price point is decent – especially these on sale! I have a few colors, and you can see me wearing one here.
Fascia FLO membership: Know someone who loves movement? Gift them a membership to fascia FLO! I’m including this in “steals” because this movement gives so much back to your body and life, that it’s hard to express in words. Join monthly or get a bonus & reduced-fee 3-month membership.
Vegan Candles
Splurge
Aira Soy Candles These vegan candles are organic, kosher, vegan, and made with therapeutic-grade essential oils. They are paraffin-free, and this 16 oz will burn for over 110 hours!
Steal
Trader Joe’s Honeycrisp Apple: These are seasonal candles, and smell ah-mazing! They are also paraffin-free and made with a soy wax blend and lead-free wick. At $3.99 they are quite a steal. (yes, I have bought a few myself this year!)
